Rick Santorum Surging in Iowa

Rick Santorum is surging at just the right time and, backed by strong evangelical support, could pull off a huge last-minute win in next week's Iowa caucuses. Though its highly unlikely he'll roll through the other primaries and emerge as the nominee, an Iowa win should at least send Santorum toward the front of the pack, if only temporarily.

A review of Gallup's polling dating back to 1972 shows that first place finishes in Iowa or New Hampshire have boosted candidates by up to 30 points, propelling some candidates from low single digits to top-tier contenders overnight. In one case, a win in both those states resulted in over a 40 point boom and, ultimately, the nomination.

A major network review of the Iowa caucus, on the subject of irrelevancy, showed that only three of the last 16 eventual party presidential nominees (repub and dem) had won the Iowa caucus (Obama, Carter, and "W").

Worse still, there's a high probability that it won't even serve to cull the herd, as the sixth and seventh finishers may not drop out!!! To quote LD admin's: ""YAWN...""

Even worse, it could select a winner, that is so poor of a spokesmodel, that he can't carry 15% of the electorate, anywhere in the nation (save his own congressional district,) giving Obama a landslide re-election!!!

If we thought as hard as we could, we would be hard pressed to find a poorer war to select the nation's CEO! (h***, Clinton was elected twice, and never with an approval rating above 45%. [His unemployed constituency (thanks to all of his NAFTA, CAFTA and world trade agreements,) is hosting/holding the OWS (Occupy Wall Street) events.]
Several elected presidents have lost the popular vote, yet won the electoral college.)

another Ron Paul syndromer- zero national name recognition, tiny regional constituency... great person, but hardly, a nationally prominent candidate. Once again, Iowa picks an also ran.

Don't count Rick out...

the last time that "beauty contest" was the criteria for the presidency.... It seems that the "beauty" factor, ended up causing an impeachment trial! (and the current Occupy Wall Street events)!!!

I like cussing and dis-cussing democrap history! In fact, if we don't keep mindful (and VIGILANT) of it, history will REPEAT itself...
