CITY OF DAYTON, TEXAS AND GUN SHOW QUESTIONS

(08/01/2022 DAYTON, TEXAS) The new Dayton City Manager, Steve Floyd and Dayton Chief of Police, Derek Woods have taken an important measure to save the City of Dayton, Texas much money in potential losses. Floyd and Woods have moved the Gun Show venue to a private company as opposed to the City of Dayton taking on the liability of having a Gun Show, sponsored by the city. It should be known that Mr. Floyd and Mr. Woods are not anti-second amendment... In fact, this mentioned action by Mr. Floyd and Mr. Woods could be seen as preserving the rights of the good people of Texas; to assemble and enjoy their second amendment rights.

We need more public officials like Mr. Floyd and Mr. Woods representing the people in the State of Texas.

During the next few weeks, we the people, will have to borrow from days past of Americans who have survived difficult situations in our country.

This is not a time to be weak kneed. This is not a time to be afraid. This is not a time to bow to the pressures of the times and give up.

It is a time to fight back. It is a time to listen and take preventive measures to keep you and your family working towards surviving the Covid-19 epidemic. It is a time for me and my family to renew our relationship with God. It is a time for faith. It is time for science. It is a time for strength.

We all pray for our fellow Americans who have died from Covid-19. We all pray for the families that have lost their loved ones. We all pray for this to pass and that God will place a hedge of protection around our Country and our loved ones.

Our ultimate prayer should be that God will grant our President great wisdom to lead our country and our people through this crisis and into a new era after the epidemic has passed. Prosperity will return. Our lives will return to normal. We will survive.

PICKETT CAN STILL DO THE RIGHT THING, BUT WILL HE?

It is never too late to start doing the right thing and begin putting your life on the right track. They say uncontrolled anger is like a creature loose in a person's mind and taming it demands focus and dedication.

Voters are more than aware of the devastating effects on families domestic problems can cause. The election results are in and voters who have for decades returned whoever the incumbent District Attorney has been, from W.G. Woods back in the 1970's to Mike Little all the way into this century, to serve as long as they like, have decided Logan Pickett should no longer represent us in prosecuiting crime. Mike little in a cowardly move vacated office before he was indicted or voted out - under a cloud of allegations including official oppression, malicious prosecution and trading sex for reduced sentences.

Voters probably would have preferred Pickett stepping down when his behaviors became public knowledge, but many will understand that the reason this behavior has persisted for over a decade has been denial. Hopefully now Pickett is left to face the biggest challenge of his life and he will have the courage to take it head on.

The public will know soon enough. If Pickett is unable to face his demons, look for him to assert the right to serve out the remaining nine months of his term. If he wants to do what is best for him and his family however, we will all hear real soon how he and newly elected District Attorney Jennifer Berrgman have coordinated a seemless way of Pickett handing over the responsibilities of that office to her in a way that considers the public and both of their interests.

LIBERTY COUNTY DA LOGAN PICKETT SUFFERS A HUMILIATING ELECTION LOSS

Women in Liberty County loudly and clearly said, "Enough!" to Logan Pickett and sent a message to any other wife beaters and sexual harrassers running for public office that no matter what their wife may tolerate,  voters would reject them at the polls.

Liberty Dispatch echoed their sentiments and knew election day was a mere formality. Jennifer Bergman Harkness answered the bell and gave voters a well qualified option and that is all that was needed to sweep Pickett out of the building he has misused and away from employees he needed to be separated from..

Whether lawsuits follow Pickett or not, voters can sleep tonight knowing the official responsible for prosecuting people for doing what he did is no longer going to be sitting in the seat of power.

The Pickett family has historically been in charge of one elected office or another for almost one hundred years. With the defeat of this Pickett, the only office the family has control of now is Logan Pickett's father's remaing years on this term as Mayor, a job that pays ten dollars a year.

BREAKING: DEAR LIBERTY DISPATCH, LOGAN PICKETT WAS BAILED OUT BY A LIBERTY COUNTY OFFICIAL

Dear Liberty Dispatch:

I’ve learned something very disturbing I want to share with the Liberty County voters. Please investigate why Liberty County Commissioner Precinct #4 Leon Wilson, bailed/bonded Logan Pickett out of jail in Harris County.

Why is Leon Wilson, a public official, bailing out and posting bond for Logan Pickett for a domestic abuse assault charge?

Logan Pickett’s father is a Lawyer and he has many attorneys who he works with along with others who could and should have bonded him out.

My next question is, why is Leon Wilson protecting and promoting Pickett? Did Leon Wilson use Liberty County money to post bond for Logan Pickett?

Logan Pickett, the current District Attorney for Liberty County, has now added another run-in with the law to add to the court date in front of a Houston Judge for an incident where he beat his wife in response to her having the wherewithal to confront him about the sex he has been engaging regularly for over a year in the courthouse with a married woman with children.

Pickett surprised many people when he did not step down from his position after revelations of wife beating and adultery. He furthered surprised many when he signed up to run for re-election and informed Houston media Liberty County citizens had a different view of the laws he broke than Houstonians. So I guess nobody should be surprised now to find out a little digging in the courthouse has revealed he has ignored state election law.

Pickett, according to longstanding law, was due to inform the public of the donations he has received to his campaign and his expenditures.

Since he has failed to file the report voters have no information about where or who his campaign has received money from on the third reporting period. His first two reports show almost no public support. His family has financed some of his campaign however. As election day approaches, citizens that appreciate openness in campaign financing will be disappointed.

We have no information on how, or if Pickett, will respond to breaking this law or if he will again call it a "private matter" as he called the bruises on his wife's face.

Some involved in politics that know Pickett predict his father will take the blame for the law not being followed.

CALLS TO THE TEXAS STATE ETHICS COMMISSION WERE ANSWERED WITH: "We cannot answer questions related to an ongoing investigation."
