(Austin, TX) Conservative Texas rancher, businessman and former broadcaster and football great, Craig James, today announced his intention to “rock the boat in Washington” as he officially began his campaign to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate. Speaking to reporters assembled at the historic Driskill Hotel, James talked about his desire to take a stand against an increasingly intrusive, inept federal government.
“America is the greatest nation on earth and Texas is its greatest state,” said James.“Unfortunately, the conservative values that have made us great and the economic freedom that has made us the envy of the nation are being diminished by a federal government that has spun completely out of control. I am running for the U.S. Senate to help get our country back on track.”
Focusing on the essential tasks of cutting wasteful government spending, reducing taxes and shrinking the federal government, James intends to draw upon his experience in the private sector to shake things up.
“The status quo in Washington is dragging our country down. It’s time for an outsider’s perspective from a leader who knows what it’s like in the real world,” continued the fifth-generation Texan. “I know firsthand what it’s like to deal with the tax and regulatory burdens that weigh down our job creators and I will do my part to unleash the economic power of our state and nation.”
As he promised to fight for smaller government, James also pledged to advocate for the essential conservative values that form the foundation of our nation.
“I’m about faith, family and the Constitution,” concluded James. “Those simple yet profound elements define who we are as a nation. In the final accounting, America is great because Americans are good. I am blessed to live in this country and obliged to serve.”
