PRESS RELEASE: Marcus Brand Update

As promised, I will explain the three points made in my earlier January press release.

I stated that, “I will bring representative government, honesty, and respect back to the office of Commissioner Precinct 2”.

I believe that representative government is of the utmost importance to the people of Liberty County. Many Americans have given their lives for this. Seems today, elected officials believe they are placed in office to do as they please and push their own agendas. In reality, they are placed in office to represent the citizens and convey their concerns. Let’s get back to this process.

I will bring honesty to the office of Commissioner Precinct 2. I will have an open door policy for the citizens of this precinct/county and also keep the media informed on the issues that affect Liberty County. I will hide nothing. There will not be any “good old boy” deals in my office.

I will bring respect to the office. I will be a public servant bringing dignity and respect not only to the office of Commissioner, but to the people in Precinct 2 of Liberty County. I will never forget the taxpayers pay my salary.

I believe in giving back to the community. I served my country in the U.S. Army Reserves, and would be honored to serve Liberty County as Commissioner Precinct 2.

Sincerely,

Marcus Brand

Candidate for Liberty County Commissioner Precinct

Yea Marcus! I predict local Democrats in the upcoming election are going to be on the receiving end of the public's anger and exasperation due to their stubborn refusal over the last twenty years to deal with all of the corruption and good ole boy cronyism in the Liberty County Courthouse. Groce is the problem, not the solution.

I agree. Groce is a problem that can be solved at the ballot box. Brand has excellent views of the future of Liberty County and Precinct 2. Brand is committed to solving drainage issues in the precinct and needs Precinct 2 voter help in order to start the process. You will NEVER be talked down to or chastised for speaking to him about Precinct 2 issues. Brand has some learning to do and that is a good thing. I think he needs to learn how NOT to get caught up in the "Good Old Boy" system. It is like a Cancer. Once it is diagnosed, it is hard to cure. A good example is the current Liberty County. I think Brand wants to try and cure the Cancer. Think I'll give him a chance.
