HELP WANTED: LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO DO THE COUNTY ATTORNEY JOB

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!

The main duties of the person elected Liberty County’s County Attorney is to represent the state in criminal cases in county and justice of the peace criminal courts and to serve as legal adviser to county officials. The county attorney works with law enforcement officers in the investigation and preparation of cases to be heard before the criminal county courts. Sign ups for any attorney interested in running for this position begin November 12th and end December 12th. Republican candidates should contact interim Republican County Chairman Ken Coleman (and we would like to hear from you too), and Democrats should contact Democrat County Chairman Nancy Archer.

Liberty Dispatch would like to put a call out to any local attorney that wants to provide these services to the Liberty County community. We need someone that will be pro-active in dealing with the growing juvenile concerns of the county and we need someone who will work with our judges and our law enforcement. Also someone who will clear and deal with the mounting lawsuits backlogged against Liberty County.

I am sick and tired of people running for public office just because they want a job. People running for public office should have a strong desire to serve the public by not only doingthe work the job they are running for requores, but a strong desire to do whatever they can to bring honesty and openness to our local government.

Sick and Tired:

awww, c'mon. The founding fathers were actually, the 'funding fathers,' setting the precedent of lining their pockets. They all entered office as paupers, and left as millionaires.

Someone needs a history lesson. Washington was one of the richest men in America entering office - his service was a sacrifice. Both Adams left the Presidency with no significant gain. Jefferson's Monticello was in ruins when he finally got out of Washington D.C. and never returned to making money like it had. The idea that Madison and Monroe were better off financialy because they were Presidents is absurd. Jackson lost his wife Rachel and was away from his beloved Hermitage estate because of the Presidency. The list of people not benefitting much or at all goes on and on...... but the Clintons and the Obamas are not on it.

The Founding Fathers did not need government jobs.

Melvin Hunt was no founding father and the schools are the only ones who benefitted by his election years ago. Hunt was a school teacher before he became a politician.

Wes Hinch has close to zero trial experience INCLUDING HIS TENURE AS COUNTY ATTORNEY. He has a poor win loss record. He is not really trying to learn.Wes Hinch is biding his time on the public dole as he looks and hopes for that big break to come through the courthouse where he gets hold of a case that he sees and uses a referral to cash in on a big settlement.

history lesson????

ok, here's yours:

Why is Washington deemed such a 'hero'? After all, he had:

1. two percent taxes (Boston Tea Party's beef)

2. no representativies ("taxation without representation is tyranny")

3. and didn't have SENSE ENOUGH to leave that alone (look what seven LEVELS of representatives, like Melvin Hunt, cost us NOW)!

Levels:
1. local
2. school
3. county
4. state
5. federal
6. EPA (recycling taxes, fees, fines, etc.)
7. One world gov't, UN, foreign aid,...
