I think I remember getting a push poll in one of Eddie Shauberger’s efforts to get elected. It really seemed more like political telemarketing masquerading as a poll. It definitely wasn’t to collect information like it tried to imply it was. I can’t imagine anyone ever analyzed the data. I remember because it contained negative information about Shauberger’s opponent – to be honest I don’t know if it was true or not.
I thought the poll was an unusual way to try to motivate voters. I didn’t care for the tone of the call and was unsure of its truthfulness. It seems like I remember they asked a hypothetical question.
I can see where push polls can easily mislead the public, and not just about the opponent. They can even mislead the public about what they are; callers claim they are conducting a poll when all they are doing is spreading negative information.
I hope these people from outside the county will now be reluctant to use this kind of campaign strategy now that you have said one of them has a track record that includes this kind of stuff. If they have as much campaign money to try and re-elect the sheriff as you say, then I guess anything might happen, but I bet your article on this stops it from happening again.
Thanks LD! Take your mask off and behave Outsider people!!

Did Shauberger use some of his Tom Delay money to poo-poo his opponent with these phone calls?
I think the person writing the comment is right. They won't do this now. Now they can act indignant that you accused them. Accused them of doing what one of them has done before.
Pegues, you are a piece of work. You will hear from us...... sleep with your eyes open and wonder.

If this happens like you say it will then why are people willing to spend so much money on this race? Who are these people?
I have seen Sheriff Patterson with Eddie Shauberger and others at two different events. I recognize himfrom pictures over the years.
The sheriff's deputies are at-will employees and can be fired for no reason tomorrow. The endless amount of distrust within our ranks when Henry first came in has left us a whole lot less enthusiastic about working for the LCSO.
Instead of being involved in all of the damn politicking and playing on these websites somebody needs to get us enough people out there to catch the bad guys. Patterson has taken away people and put them on the special unit of his and he has giving people comp time. Hell, if we run somebody in,it leaves next tonothing for back up. That is dangerous.
Dirty tricks and all about you still? Again you have hooked up with some more partners not from Liberty County. Looks like all of this cost you your friendship with Richard. Wake up.
Patterson, Eddie and the Outsiders look like they have big plans for Liberty County.
Dear Liberty Dustpatch:
I wanna go out dressed as an outsider for Halloween, but my mommy won't let me. Can you post my complaint too?
Patterson, eddie and the outsiders = pussies
I wish these people would take all of their money they spend on "investigating" on my behalf and on slick ads and phone calls and rather than "educate" me, pay for a taxi so Sheriff Patterson can show up at some of the crime scenes.
Dear LD, please help me: I want to go dressed as an trustworthy and honest democrat, for Halloween. However, nobody's ever seen one or heard of one. They keep sending me to the fictional character area of the costume shop. Still can't find it. I can't fathom what, or who, the costume should look like!
Democrat costumes??? well, ok. It has a halo, to which its horns are attached. It has a forked tongue (to quote the native Americans). It has a leopard's body, with constantly changing spots. It has multiple puppy dog heads, trying to lick every liberal ideas' hands, all at once (watch out, though, it's gay and doesn't hump legs, but it sniffs, licks, and humps a bit higher. Warning, it may swing both ways, as well- never mind, that it has a spouse and family)! It has a money bag, with a huge vaccuum on one end (sucking everyone's hard earned dollars,) and a huge spending hole on the other. It also has a huge book on its head, named 'budget', which it finds impossible to balance! Finally, it has a mean streak, is sneaky, and has a nasty temper- it can't stand anyone who notices that it's a freak, let alone says it's not normal. It's entire pack will attack you, ostracize you, and try to vote you off the island. (all the while, claiming freedom of the press, speech, right to choose, or religion, as their authority.)
Ok. So much for the Outsiders. I get your point. Give me some reasons not to vote for Patterson. Seemed like he was doing his job. Has it got something to do with the J. Warren case? If not why the reversal of opinion. LD was tooting his horn for a long time. Now you want to get rid of him. Just asking a serious question and since my last post wasn't deemed "OK" to print thought I'd reword it a little.
Two things. First to answer your question, if Rader runs, we believe he will be a better sheriff. Second, some language is too inappropriate to post.
