R.I.N.O. - Republican In Name OnlyThe 2006 Liberty Dispatch RINO award winner, Melinda Fredericks is running for Republican Party of Texas, Vice Chair. Fredericks and Lester Ray Wisegerber both won the Golden Rino Award for 2006. Mrs. Fredericks recently lost her bid to retain an appointed position with the SREC.
Tom Mechler is running for Texas Republican Chairman and Fredericks, his Vice Chairman. Fredericks is alleged to be an integral part in the bastardization of the State and Local Republican Party.
In the SREC election, Liberty Dispatch endorses candidates, Mrs. Cathie Adams for Texas Republican Chairperson and Mr. Robin Armstrong for her Vice Chairman.

There is no Golden Rino like Lester Ray. He is the champion!
People are all about doing what is best for themselves and not listening to anybody but the powerbrokers, That may work fine for awhile,but sooner or later that strategy will backfire. People rise and fall in politics. It is best to listen to all and then DO THE RIGHT THING. Assuming those who are in power are always right is unwise.Mrs. Fredericks should have learned that lesson in Libertyu County here lately and she may have a chance to learn it on a statewide basis too. It can sometimes be too late to mend fences, but it is never too late to try.
I agree about Lester. His "it doesn't matter whether a person has a 'D' or an 'R' by their name" trumps anything anyone has done or will do. A damn party chairman saying that is unbelievable! And then he ran unoppposed for his second term!! People mad all over the countyt about his lazy unethical leadership, but nobody ran. Thank God for Andrew McCreight!
Melinda did some good things for the party, but was clueless about what Wisegerber was doing. Wisegerber did nothing for the party and was clueless about all kinds of things ,,,,,, including how to run a chairman's race for re-election.
Hey Ray, how about Dennis Odell running for something now that Lester Ray is retired?
Republicans here in Libery County should have made more gains the last two elections with Obama and other things going on, but Lester Ray never really cared about winning.He just wanted to be somebody. He had several ladies around him that just wanted "positions", not a better county.
