Local Attorney Files Motion to Disqualify ADA Joe Warren

(Liberty County, Texas- 07/07/2011) Local activist attorney James Evans has filed a motion in the 75th judicial district court asking The Honorable Judge Mark Morefield to remove ADA Joe Warren from his cases pending Warren being adjudicated.

Liberty County First Assistant District Attorney Joseph Wayne Warren 57, was recently arrested and charged with "Tampering With a Witness" - "Terroristic Threats" - "Deadly Conduct".

According to sources, today a special prosecutor from Houston, Ms. Kelly Siegler has been named as appointed by The Honorable Judge Burgess to prosecute the charges against Joe Warren.

The Joe Warren arrest is part of a wider Liberty County Corruption probe by Liberty County Sheriff, Henry Patterson and the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.

Excerpts from Evans' motion:

"That District Attorney Michael R. Little is aware of the circumstances surrounding the charges lodged against JOE WARREN. That Mr. Little, according to statements attributed to him, has elected not to suspend, remove, discharge, or prosecute MR. WARREN."

"Further, that Mr. Little has harmed and continues to harm the Liberty County Criminal Justice system by his decision. Additionally, Mr. Little's decision not to relieve MR. WARREN of his position within the District Attorney's Office (i.e., the prosecution of cases) has subjected the Courts wherein MR. WARREN continues to prosecute cases to undue negative publicity, thoughts of questionable integrity, and cause for concern by the public."

"I respectfully contend that the Court should protect the integrity and image of the Court and disqualify JOE WARREN from prosecuting cases while he has charges pending against him."

Liberty Dispatch supports the Liberty County Sheriff's Office and their hard work.  Liberty Dispatch also supports and looks forward to Ms. Kelly Siegler's work in the Liberty County corruption investigations.

Many thanks to you Mr. Evans!

I admire you for this. The courage and professional responsibility you are displaying here is truly a breath of fresh air.

The action you've taken in filing this motion is a reflection of the respect you have, not only for your profession, but also for the citizens of Liberty County.

My father thanks you, my mother thanks you, my sister thanks you, and I thank you. ( James Cagney aka George M.Cohan "Yankee Doodle Dandy" :) )

Your effort is greatly appreciated!!

God bless you...you good man. :)

hear, hear! and...

LCSO should limit all of duhhNesa's PIA requests to 'after action reports' only, lest there be another 'buried, dismembered babies' SNAFU. Further, they should find some way to achieve private departmental communications, rather than allowing any citizen civilian to monitor their radio calls. Crawl out of the 19th century, how about it?

While District Attorney Mike Little stakes his career on allowing an alleged felon to continue to represent Liberty County, Kelly Siegler could be adding another feather to a well documented successful career by prosecuting Joe Warren and continuing to make justice work for all in Texas courts.

As a big fan of Siegler, I would expect her investigation to be far more troubling for the entire Liberty County District Attorney's office than just the prosecution of their Assisstant District Attorney. Liberty County's reputation is well known among Siegler and most Houston attorneys.

Mike Little should be recalled.

Parts of the Outsider story mayneed further investigation ad correcting but the facts surrounding Joe Warren's actions are spot on. And the systematic use of selective prosecution by Mike Little is becoming obvious to us all.

The honorable James Evans continues to act as if fairness and the rule of law are enacted in our courthouse without prejudice or vengeance. He has my admiration for his efforts and my prayers as he faces the reality of how this D.A. does business.

Finally! Kudos to you, Mr. Evans, for having enough cuhones to stand up to Mike Little and Joe Warren. I implore Judge Morefield to take note and order Joe Warren suspended from his duties as prosecutor for the State of Texas in Liberty County.

By refusing to release Joe Warren from his duties as prosecutor, Mike Little has added to the black eye that the District Attorney's office has received due to the actions of Joe Warren.

Is it just me,or should Mike Little have already investigated this incident and reprimanded or fired Joe Warren if the evidence warranted it? I mean geez, pulling a gun on someone when your own dog dug under the fence and attacked their puppy!

Sure the dog part of this and the gun being pulled on the victims is horrible, but worse than that is the abuse of power and the cover up.

Prediction now that this special prosecutor has been named:

JOE WARREN RESIGNS TO SAVE MIKE LITTLE'S RE-ELECTION PROSPECTS.

The only genius displayed in Mike Little's career has been his ability to control the media and have 100% positive printed about him. He has used his ability to control his image to control the fact he has never had an opponent. He now has a far more realistic and accurate reputation.

Whathappened to the SUV Mike Little was driving to work a few months ago .....could it be that was not his SUV? Does the D.A. have a sponsor or is he manipulating confiscated assets for his own benefit?

The part of the OUTsiders' story that really aggravatesme is that the DA's office was presented charges twice and they refused to accept them AND THEN THEY CLAIMED NO NOTICE OF THE JOE WARREN ARREST! I guess they had no not notice of all of the other charges that were presented those two times!! How dare them act as if the sheriff's department has been uncooperative or secretive when they are the ones acting so bizarre.

I like the details in the evidence attached. Good job LD.

It is obvious to me that the District Attorney's office is under attack. But upon further review the whole department seems to have a suicide pact that insist on self imploding.

After reading some of the ridiculous comments of Wes Hinch, I can see why it was assumed he played a role in this, but you need to check your facts in that area. What is frightening to me is how correct your information is on the salient material in your report.

Has anyone thought about the parallels in this case? Joe Warren's dog trespasses and attacks a puppy and he follows that up with a threat. Then he goes back to work like nothing happens and surely will soon claimthis is all political. Is this not a cookie cutter clan Mr. Little has?

When I saw the headline in one of the local papers," Former Liberty County sheriff’s captain sentenced to one year in prison", I thought ole Chip had got him a 12 month vacation.

A Galveston County assistant district attorney was suspended at the first of the yearwithout pay for being arrested and charged.
ADA Lester Blizzard’s suspension was upheld pending the outcome of an investigation. Unlike the threats and intimidation and the gun involved in the Warren case, Blizzard was charged with driving while intoxicated. Also unlike DA Mike Little, Galveston District Attorney Jack Roady requested a special prosecutor to handle Blizzard’s case without any prompting from the sheriff's department or a judge. Roady said he did so "in order to avoid a conflict of interest". How long must Little and his clan? The more I know the more I agree with people on here.

Ok, Ray, here is the main point. Everytime that fat bastard, Joe Warren, tries a case, it will be in the back of the juror's minds that Warren tampered with evidence. Whether he is guilty or not does not matter. He has lost all credibilty. For Mike "Cornhole" Little to allow Warren to continue to represent the State of Texas is just asking for not guilty verdicts. Is Little that stupid?

Anyone that has ever been around Joe knows he would need a gun or the power of his office to confront even the next door neighbor.

Has it crossed anyones mind that there is a BIG possibility that Joe Warren probably has SOMETHING on Mike Little?? Perhaps the Michael Blue case has some truth to the allegations.

Anonymous said...

well, who DOESN'T have 'something on Mike Little'? (I'd "lol," but there's nothing funny about this rampant corruption.)

No, there really is not one thing funny about any of this. While I have always been a supporter of the, eleven year-old Hispanic girl, as I read the comment made by people nationwide, I was angry that they thought so little of the citizens, not only of Cleveland, but of Liberty County, as well. I have been a resident in Liberty County my entire life and, now, at the age of fifty, I find myself questioning the lack of morals displayed in a place I have always loved and until recently, was never ashamed of saying, “Why yes, I am from Liberty County”, this is certainly not the case any longer.

I, too, have for the most part, believed in our justice system-This too, I am now questioning. Come October or whenever “they” schedule this rape case for trial, I will be wondering,as these nineteen black males come before the “Liberty County, Justice System” if, true and rightful justice can be served by Liberty County Officials who have “supposedly” done, only God knows what, when justice, is to be served through and by these same officials. I truly want justice for this young girl and the maximum penalty for “everyone” involved in her rape. It does, again, makes me wonder, if all this corruption coming out at this time, as it is obviously “old news”, has just been, groundwork, for this approaching trial. What would have happened if all of this came out after the trial? Morally corrupt officials prosecuting, morally corrupt citizens.

Rest assured that the corruption in LC is longstanding, and has NOTHING to do with the trials to come. They'll be corrupt up to, and until, they are finally forced to stop.

""Git a rope""!
