Editorial from: Talk Straight To Me

It should be very frustrating to voters of both parties and independents to read quotes from politicians like County Commissioner Norman Brown who was every open in the last two elections as he told citizens publicly that he was a Democrat “to the core” and had “always” been one because they best represent his values. I like Norman personally, but statements like his most recent one declaring himself a Republican because of changes in the values of the parties make me wonder how stupid he thinks all of us voters are.

To make matters worse, it appears District Judge Chap Cain was so impressed by Brown’s press release that he uses the same type of sales pitch to voters and beckons all of us “ his friends” to stick with him. If I were Cain’s friend I would tell him if he could not be more honest with himself at least he could be more honest with me and with the voters. I would tell him with no qualifiers that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING has changed about the values expressed in the Democratic or Republican Party in many years. I would tell him people are ridiculing these kinds of statements all over town. I have heard them. I have read some of them. They are right!

To politicians who hold public office and want to change parties today, I would warn you that though you have been elected in the past and you may or may not have a bunch of friends that will remain loyal to you no matter what you do, most of us do not know you well. Most of us will form impressions by your actions and your words and we will vote for someone we believe is being honest with us. We will vote for someone who we believe has a well ordered mind and makes rational justifiable and wise decisions. Nothing about Brown’s and Cain’s explanation of their party change smells like anything but politics. No honesty. No rationality. No wisdom.

If a politician changing parties had never held office, or if they were younger, or if they had had some kind of religious conversion or a philosophical epiphany, I would accept their decision on face values, but these two men claim no such thing. It may not be that they were caught sniffing cocaine or cheating on their wife or enriching themselves by using information their office affords them to make money off of real estate, but it is the same type thinking that politicians have exercised and discredited themselves with voters over the years.

Imagine a Judge asking us to trust his decisions, decisions that affect so many of our friends and neighbors, when on the one decision we get to hear an explanation of we hear this!

Oh some “win at all cost” Republicans may say we are glad to have both of them because incumbents are difficult to beat. And I guess some embarrassed Democrats may embrace both of them because they may not have anyone to run against them and they want to stay connected to those in power. But we independents are sick and tired of these kinds of politicians and we look forward to the next election and sending a message to them: “it is not us that lack judgment, gentlemen”.

Your story is a good one. I trust Cain but never Norman Brown because of his buddy Wisegerber and their scheme.

I trust Chap and Julie, they could be Liberty County's saving grace.

Brown and Wisegerber use the political parties to accomplish their own goals of gaining control and they will say whatever they need to EVEN TO THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I try to steer Lester away from anything political because he makes no sense but he thinks we don't know anything about all of this. He is the person suppose to lead REPUBLICANS. That is his job. He instead is using an elected position with duty and honor at stake, to help whoever he wants. He should resign. He has had conflicts of interests before, but nothing like he will with his Democratic son-in-law running against one of the Republicans Kester is suppose to help get elected.

The Browns have always been about the Browns. How he ever got elected I will never know. As for the Cains..... that is across the river.

Lets drag out some of the women Hight was nailing, maybe they can tell us some about the mold in the Courthouse.

I doubt any Cain likes Hight, he and Mike Little has tried to put them in jail.

Lies and smoke screens from i-dineout.

Have you ever talked to Brown. he makes being the commissioner sound difficult. next time you see him ask to explain how to put on a pair of tube socks. he will make that sound ever bit as hard. No education. No background for the job. But in the abscence of another candidate, we all get to choose between a man that did not get his DHS diploma after 79 years of life in Dayton and a man that will be taking a 150% paycut if he wins election. PLEASE, someone else sign up.

CT Hight dropped his employee of 25 years in the grease with wrongful termination, also has history of womanizing too which will come out very soon. The employee with complaints is named Cheryl Sanders. As far as I know, there is no love lost between the Cain's and CT Hight and his ilk. Who knows why Allen Youngblood is trying to spin this the way he is spinning. How could someone understand a mentally defective person like him.

I have changed Norman (Pothole) Brown's name to, Norman (Ethics Policy) Brown. Please, somebody run against this nut in the upcoming election.

I have heard a rumor that Lester Ray is going to sign up to run for the Democrat Party Chair at the last minute just in case Stormin Norman gets a Democrat opponent. Regardless of whether the rumor is true or not, it has been confirmed Lester ray will do what ever is necessary to ensure his best friend's election.

Liberty Dispatch supported and endorsed Henry Patterson, then Patterson was elected. I know it takes time to acclimate to a job but we cant give him much more understanding. He needs to make a stand against the corruption in Liberty County.
