Good to see Liberty County willing to make changes these days. When I lived in Liberty, if you were the incumbent or a Democrat, you were a permanent fixture no matter how incompetent or crooked you were. Rader is a good egg.

Glad to see these changes start, in Liberty County Sheriff Dept.

Bobby Rader will be the best thing that ever happened to Liberty County. Best wishes Sheriff!

Can we all expect the end of the days the Sheriff's office needs a special crimes unit that is unaccountable, a lawyer on staff spending his time zinging his fellow officers with letters in their files instead of training, and stonewalling information that is public information? If Bob Rader is all people seemto think he is I have high hopes for a cooperative Sheriff's office that works together to catch bad guys and prevent crime. Good luck ladies and gentlemen.makes us proud! make us forget what lies behind us and rebnuild this county's reputation of years and years of problems rather than solutions.

Only problem i see is the people that he is keeping. all those standing next to him in the picture are the very ones that have been underminding the sheriff dept for years. as a voter if he dont clean house i WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN.

Looks like sour grapes by someone who either didn't vote for Bobby to begin with or voted for him thinking they would get one of their buddies in as captain. My question for this individual would simply be does he seriously suggest we should have voted for Patterson?

Bobby Rader #1

A good Sheriff does not go in office and fire everybody. These people he kept will probably be on a trial period. You have to give people a chance to show what they can do with the right supervision. Bobby Rader will be watching how they perform before firing them.

what i said is sheriff radar needs to clean house. i voted for him because he claimed he would clean up the sheriff office. so far he has promoted the problems. we need a new admin not greg arthurs again thats the problem. sheriff i just hope you able to see thru the lies im sure they are telling you. and i have never worked there and never will with those kind of people.

I believe that Bobby Rader is the smart and right choice for sheriff, no doubt about it. But, I also believe he needs to start fresh with individuals who are honest and who practice integrity in their daily lives as well as their public lives as does Rader. It seems possible to me that the persons who were in the department prior could be tainted and each one should definitely be watched closely for an extended period of time before being trusted completely. ( And, I guess in reality no one should ever really be trusted completely. ) Kinda like " probation "...I suppose. With all that said... one thing is apparent and that is that Mr. Rader is an intelligent and fair man and I believe if and when he sees any type of misbehavior( attempt at corruption, perhaps ) from anyone on his team, he'll immediately take care of the problem. I also believe in my heart that Mr. Rader has the best interest of the citizens of this county in his heart. I could always be wrong, but in this case I am "pretty" confident that I am not. Just my opinion...

Is there any truth to the rumor that Rader hired long time democrat Royce Wheeler to oversee the gun range?

Will our elected Sheriff stand up and protect our constitutional rights from the over reaching federalis if they come to Liberty county to confiscate our arms? I wish he would sound off and draw the line in the sand like countless other Sheriffs have done across the country! Sheriff Richard "Mack" seems to be leading the charge on this very critical issue. Being that our home town bears the name "LIBERTY" we should be front of the line!!! http://sheriffmack.com/
