| Courtesy- Overture Films No one wants to ever again see anything like the senseless slaughter of one person much less 26 people – including 20 children - at a school. But if Congress is going to look into what can be done to improve the situation, here are six facts they need to know- |
1. Violent crime – including violent crime using guns – has dropped massively over the past 20 years.
The violent crime rate - which includes murder, rape, and beatings - is half of what it was in the early 1990s. And the violent crime rate involving the use of weapons has also declined at a similar pace.
2. Mass shootings have not increased in recent years.
Despite terrifying events like Sandy Hook or last summer’s theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado, mass shootings are not becoming more frequent. “There is no pattern, there is no increase,” says criminologist James Allen Fox of Northeastern University, who studies the issue. Other data shows that mass killings peaked in 1929.
3. Schools are getting safer.
Across the board, schools are less dangerous than they used be.Over the past 20 years, the rate of theft per 1,000 students dropped from 101 to 18. For violent crime, the victimization rate per 1,000 students dropped from 53 to 14.
4. There Are More Guns in Circulation Than Ever Before.
Over the past 20 years, virtually every state in the country has liberalized gun ownership rules and many states have expanded concealed carry laws that allow more people to carry weapons in more places. There around 300 million guns in the United States and at least one gun in about 45 percent of all households. Yet the rate of gun-related crime continues to drop.
5. “Assault Weapons Bans” Are Generally Ineffective.
While many people are calling for reinstating the federal ban on assault weapons – an arbitrary category of guns that has no clear definition – research shows it would have no effect on crime and violence.
6. Violent video games and movies allow crazy people a “test drive” to see and feel how bloody massacre would go down. Note: LD and its supporters are not against video games, only the use by unstable or criminal people who use them as a training edge for perpetrating crimes.

If Congress wants to look into trying to do something about the senseless slaughter of people and other evil things, Congress (and the Citizenry) need to understand just who profits from these sort of acts and take a good look at just what has been legalized to make such slaugter profitable... Understand the motive, then know how to stop the crime. Here's a hint: follow the money.

Additionally, this case provides evidence of around one and a half million invalid voter registrations in the state of California alone.
Please, keep in mind, Richard Nixon was reelected and sworn in, but later was forced to resign as a result of Watergate. Over 30 high ranking officials of Nixon administration, including Attorney General of the United States and White House counsel were indicted, convicted and went to prison.

Every barrel has rotten apples in it. You have to get the rotten ones out before they ruin the whole barrel. These people that do these mass shootings need to be hung at the town square as an example of what will happen to you when you do this.
The second amendment actually reads: "keep and bear arms." I'd like to see Obama find the necessary numbers to confiscate them from all of the veterans. Also, (see: SCOTUS decision) when Obamacare's "legal, Constitutionally, as a Congressional right to tax" mandate kicks in (to buy health insurance, or go to jail,) and they notice all of the veterans, whose VA card is deemed to be non-insurance- Let's see them find enough people to arrest them all. Want to see 1776 repeat itself? Want to re-live it? Here's your chance.
It will be a futile attempt for the government to try conficating guns from the US citizens. That would cause a bigger revolt than this country has ever seen since the civil war. The comment about the Obama personal records, must have some truths to it. The old saying " Where there is smoke ,there is fire" is usually right on target and there has been a lot of controversy about this.
I just read an article that says Rep.Steve Stockman has threatened to fill impeachment proceedings against Obama if he bypass's Congress on his gun law. Go Steve.
