Two Democrat Candidates, Sour Grapes...

In a recent edition of the HCN/Cleveland advocate, two candidates have been accused of living outside of Liberty County but signed up to run as 2010 candidates.

One is Democrat candidate, Les Hulsey running for Pct. 2 Constable and the other, Democrat candidate Kenneth Morrison, running for Liberty County Judge.

The following was excerpted from The Cleveland Advocate:

Both Morrison and Hulsey believe that the attempts to de-legitimize their campaigns by saying they don’t meet residency requirements are simply rural politicking.

“It’s my understanding that the Republicans are saying this because they don’t want to face me in the election,” said Morrison.

Hulsey stated that an e-mail that has been circulating accuses him of purchasing his house “simply to meet residency requirements” and that he is being called “a carpetbagger since I’ve only lived here from ‘04.”

What a couple of amateurish and delusional comments, almost a trademark of Democrat candidates. Are these really the type of people we need as elected officials and leaders?

Mr. Morrison, let me help you with your delusion, the Republicans are "NOT" the least bit worried about facing you in "ANY" election..!

Morrison is dreaming, what a clown and so is Hulsey.

Les Hulsey doesn't live here. He lives in Harris County, is married to Jessica Hulsey and have children living there also who goes to Harris County School Districts! He is claiming he lives here which he somehow had Russell Pierce property turned over to him on Jan. 10, 2010. My understanding is that you MUST reside in the Precinct for approx. 6 Months. So Jan 10 to today isn't 6 Months! And besides the point Mr. Hulsey your married and live in Harris County and have kids the go to Harris County School District. What makes you think you going to sell your 200,000 home and even attempt to move to Precinct 2? Yes we know it not gonna happen! Don't know why you want to go to everyone door and lie to them about where you resided. If you lie about that then you will lie and try to gain for your personal use and not work for these citizens!

Good comment!

How does Mr. Hulsey expect to respond to some of these older people who live alone in the middle of night when he goes home to Harris County. Thats 2 hours away! These people may not have time to wait that long when someone trying to break in there home. Voter's you need to think, this could be your family in danger and Mr. Hulsey is 2 hours away! If this Precinct isnt good enough for his family to move here and resided what makes you thinks he cares about this precinct other than a paycheck!

Morrison will struggle to beat the embattled and greatly weakened incumbent County Judge in the primary! If he can't beat someone who may believe will be indicted in a few weeks then how can he beat the winner of the Republican primary? Morrison better thank his lucky stars Bruce Halstead decided to focus on making money instead of becoming County Judge.

What a delightful thought it must be for someone to think f they win their primary they will face either Fitzgerald or Morrison.

Hight,Zbranek, Merendino, and Morrison? You have got to be kidding me. Not in my courthouse they're not. They can whisper all they want in Republican circles and try to split us, but it is them who have teamed with a Republican.

Everyone hates when our tax dollars go up but it worse if we have to pay tax dollars towards someone who goes back and forth county to county and only serves us few days a week. Thats a complete waste of mine and your tax dollars. NO WAY either one of these candidates getting me or my family vote!

There is no doubt Judge Hight and Michelle Merendino are in cahoots. That in itself is no big deal, but when Merendino is out talking about how Judge Cain is not a real Republican it becomes a problem. Here you have a candidate who has had her law degree for only seven years and has NEVER walked through the doors of a Republican meeting until recently talking about why we should vote for her instead of someone with nineteen years experience who we have told for years should change parties. It makes sense for Judge Cain to have friends in the courthouse he has worked with for years, but Meredino buddying up with Hight while talking about who the real Republicans are.......... That is over the top.

I have not decided who I will vote for but belive me peoples stories about who the real Repubican is or who is arrogant and who is not will not effect me at all. What I like about Cain is that after many many years of being a Judge I have heard he is tough on crime and with the exception of a few backbiting lawyers I have never heard he was unfair. What I like about Merendino is she is a woman and we have never had a woman district judge.

After reading the commnet about wanting a woman district judge I couldn't help but think of those people who voted for Obama because we have never had a black President. What I hope peopel will learn about that type of thinking is to wait to elect "the first" until you find someone who has experience and a track record rather than inexperience and you have to rely on them to tell you who they are.

Regarding the Constable race--I'm no big democrat myself (and am surprised there's no republican in the race), but I believe in checking facts before accepting everything I read and I'm certain that the Liberty Dispatch doesn't just run on rumors. So I went and checked for myself. I read the Cleveland Advocate story and even they admit that Hulsey meets the residency requirements to run for office. Further checking of Harris County records shows that Hulsey divorced Jessica Hulsey in 1988 so that would be a dead issue.

Man, I'm still laughing at that "carpetbagger" bullcrap . . .

Is there really even a choice in that consteble race? What with all stuff about Alfaro getting fired from every job he's ever held? Why are the good old boys sweepin that under the rug?

Well, as usual, there are comments made on here that shows the intelligence of some, but not most liberty county residents and possibly Hull-Daisetta residents. If you’re going to post something on here, please take the time to educate yourself on facts, check your spelling and maybe take a close look at your grammar! The ones who lack the time, effort, and mental capacity to proof read their own writing, are normally the ones who complain and happen to be the same ones who commit crimes while complaining about others. To give you prime example, take a good look at the two candidates running here on supposedly, “SOUR GRAPES!” First off, I would have found a well respected republican and tried to have convinced him to run, because we already see what the democrats are doing in Washington. Now, I do know you have the other fellow for judge, and what information do we know about him, or the other candidate for constable precinct 2. I know the person who wrote the comment of above would definitely vote for the Juan Alfero guy because Juan must be outstanding, for he has only tried to set his own house on fire while he was mad at his girlfriend, not to mention after bouncing her around a little. That will teach her to talk back! Or, how about the underage girls he has had multiple relations with, even has co-habited with, and then was terminated (FIRED FOR THE UNEDUCATED) from the sheriff’s department for. This kind of sounds like Bill Clinton, with a little John Edwards punishment in there, no pun intended. Maybe, we should take a closer look at all of this. I believe he has already held this position one time and royally made a disaster out of it. Besides, if you would vote for Juan, you get two for the price of one, you also get Chip Fairchild with him. Those two go pretty far back, I believe they became friends over Juan’s arson charges. Juan and Chip had the girl sharing going on, at my ripe age of sixty two, that wouldn’t set well in my church. As Chip gets older, he always got Juan there to help him with the ladies. You know writing this, I just thought about the last article on here about Chip being posted in some accusations of arson, where did he get those ideas, Juan? Also not to mention, freedom of information, ask the sheriff’s department how much he has cost tax payer’s for wrecking I believe, not 1, not 2, but at least 3 patrol cars. It is really hard to text, talk and drive, these days, especially while talking to all of his “honeys’”. Our budget for the county already needs help to save, not to waste and spend frivolously as it would be needed to afford such a “player” to be in the constable’s office. So since you will have a little insight, there is plenty more out there on all of these candidates, please help to make a wise choice and the best decision for our people. We must vote the best candidate even though I prefer a republican.

Is it just me or has the Democratic party shed itself of any semblance of sanity? The top dog is spending money out of Washington like he is trying to drive us bankruptcy, the country good ole boy County Judge is good ole boying with FEMA and the FBI, and the black robed bald headed District Judge is selling us fair and balanced while he is wheeling and dealing politics behind closed doors and holding hands with the gal from the other side. Its nuts! After all of those years the Democrats have spent saying Republicans are everything from stupid to crooked to loons.

Morrison must not be familiar with his Democratic opponent to be blaming the questions about his residency on the Republicans. Of course the Republicans would probably stoop that low in the fall, but now the noise he is hearing is the beatback from taking on a county judge that is going to fight to stay in his position.

The Huzzy and Alfairy situation is a prime example of the kind of candydates that demorats can come up with.

Anyhowz the road to the constible position of precinct 2 goes thru lynn freejay.

aint that right juan

Mr. Morrison I am sure you mean well, but even though you are from Dayton, you will not be Dayton enough to beat all of the Dayton people in this race. if you can't win the Dayton vote how can you expect to win?

This will not be eloquent words written to express my political views. No instead these are words not fabricated, but truth and straight from the heart to share with you the reader. I am a 60 year old female residing in PCT 2. Attended Church Sunday morning and in the afternoon decided to take a wooden toy box to my son's home for my infant grandson.

A sunny afternoon, ordinary hum drum for me. I stopped at Best Store to purchase a bottle of Dr. Pepper. Got back into my truck and stated driving onward to Batson. Suddenly red lights started flashing behind me. I was confused why light would be behind me. I was not speeding and very seldom do I speed. I have only 1 ticket in my life and I was 34 years old and took defensive driving to dismiss it. I pulled over. Juan Alfaro approached my truck and informed me that he clocked me doing 55 mph in front of the high school in Dasietta. I told him that he was wrong and there was no way. The conversation turned ugly very quickly and he started treating me like a criminal. He kept telling me that I was disrespectful toward him and that he was a law officer. Disrespectful? I am just stating facts. He than questioned me where I was going and started looking over the truck. I was getting real upset with his demeanor and attitude. I told him to issue me a ticket and I will see him in court. After all, I had the receipt from the purchase I just made at Best Store and the clerk as a witness. He gave me my license back and told me that I was lucky. He was not going to issue a ticket to me.

There were no probably cause for me to have been pulled over. And 55mph in front of the high school come on it is virtually impossible from Best store to reach 55 mph to the high school. I have a real concern as a citizen if Alfaro is elected to position of Constable. May God help us all.

Hmmmm lets see! How about some of you go visit Harris County Tax Office Website and search Voter and use Voter ID #00938019! Yeah thats his correct address along with his wife Mary (maiden name - McMeekin) alone with the same address of his Heliocopter Business. No heliocopter business gonna fit in that subdivision nor can you use a business address for voting application! Which means this is his primary address.

What's the big deal about Hulsey? He is the candidate that is best qualified. He meets the residency requirements. No reason to go the hcad. Please check your facts before you speak, it is a disservice to us that take time to read this blog and you post gossip. Just sayin'.

Anonymous said...

Juan, you better leave lynn freejay alone, he runs daisetta and owns nearly half of the town now. you wouldn,t be able to give him a ticket if you caught him speeding thru town as he does all the time.

I see there is some post slamming Mr. Hulsey and Juan Alfero. The race needs a republican in here so we can get put on the right track. The problem I have is the other day John Wayne Fregia put a Juan Alfero sign in my yard without asking permission, along with some other neighbors. This is absurd to post these when no way on earth I, or my neighbors would vote for Juan. He should have had a little more sense than to have John Wayne post signs for him since awhile back when I went in front of John Wayne’s house he had a marijuana plant in his kitchen window. Everyone in town knows that, even the police went by and checked it out. With Juan Alfero, John Wayne Fregia and Chip Fairchild as Juan’s Deputy since Chip can’t work anywhere else, the drugs can start flowing again. That only means crime will pick up, and from one of the above post, all I can say is: mam, I am sorry that Juan stopped you and treated you so wrong when he is just a “terd” himself, and has no respect when dealing with the public. Ask him about his driving record and how many tickets he has gotten and how many times he let go to a warrant. He has a long ways to grow up, and he needs to make sure that his drug buddy John Wayne keeps the signs out my yard or it will end up in the trash with the last one. Vote republican.

Anonymous said...

Well it cant be no worse than mr Hulsey having Wally Glover going around sticking signs in someone's yard without asking. Thats why it did go in the trash! And yes i Vote Republican too but what i dont understand is why Hulsey is driving around Lynn Fregia in his patrol car! Lynn is a convicted felon and everyone knows he not just getting his money from his so called truck company. Everyone knows where its coming from. After i seen him escorting Lynn around in his car that just made me change my mind to vote democrat just to vote against Hulsey for that reason. If you can escort Lynn around knowing he a drug pusher then that only means one thing, that you are helping him in one way or another and will let him do what he wants! We dont need another Jimmy (sniffy) Belt helping crooks. I would love to know why Lynn was in that car? Cause we all know it was up to no good.

Anonymous said...

Whats funny is Lynn Fregia made the comment to me that he runs Daisetta and everyone will vote the way he wants them too including the Mayor. And Brad Taylor I not sure what you done to Mr. Fregia but he thinks your **it! Must be when you kicked him from Fire Dept. Mr. Fregia also says once his candidate Hulsey wins his election (meaning Lynn's election) he will run Hull, Devers and Raywood also the way he wants!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Sounds like fregia is lacking something down below. At the same time he needs to be handled with kid gloves. Hulsey isn't dumb.

Anonymous said...

Perhaps WAKE UP CALL not mere elections are coming to surface.

The previous writings indicate that we have a Fregia cartel in front of us all....

Dirty hands, greed, drugs and corruption... SOUNDS LIKE MEXICO!!!!!!!

To the innocent hard working people, to the smallest of our precious children this so call Juan -vs- Hulsey election has flushed up the dirt. INDEED A WAKE UP CALL..... We must take pause and ponder what the future of this community will be given the current track that we are traveling. Whatever outcome the election provides, perhaps the WAKE UP CALL will keep the citizens more vigilant and call upon our elected officials to exhibit integrity and care. As citizens lets work together to demand honest service and not bury our heads and ignore corruption.

Wow, what an honor to own half of Daisetta. LOL!

Wow, what an honor to own half of Daisetta? That is the mind set of people who followed David Koress, or Jim Jones to Guyena. Dictatorship???
