Press Release Circulated by Steve Green of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office

On February 18, 2010, the Cleveland Advocate printed an article titled “Sheriff’s captain target of ATF investigation.” In the article, the writer states that calls to Sheriff Patterson for comment were not returned. That statement is not true. Had the Advocate engaged in fair, responsible journalism and given the Sheriff’s Office an opportunity to address the allegations, the public would have learned that state law requires a signed complaint, an investigation, and evidence to prove the allegations in that complaint before a peace officer can be suspended or terminated from employment.

It appears an inexperienced ATF Agent has been enticed by alleged corrupt Texas Ranger, Frank Huff and entourage to investigate and indict LCSO Captain, Harry Kelly and LCSO Sheriff, Henry Patterson.

More on this story, later...

So if the repbublican sheriff is somehow removed from office during this political witch hunt the deomcrat controlled commissioners court will appoint his replacement?

Sounds like some heavy duty partisan politics going on behind the scenes.

This sounds to me like a Liberty County Mafia move to make the Liberty County Sheriff look bad, just before election time. Liberty County Democratic Mafia is good at trying to get back at someone, through their political power people that are now in office.

It won't be the first time. They did the same thing to Harrelson when Cain appointed his friend to that position. Made sure that the skeletons in the closet would not be exposed.

If anyone ought to be removed, or should I say relocated, it is Texas Ranger Huff. He has been here too long. He is influenced by politics more than a Texas Ranger should be. He should either be fired or sent somewhere for a fresh start. With all due respect, I suggest he put in for a transfer while he can control some of his own destiny.

Somebody needs to call T. Boone Pickens and tell him he could strike the jckpot by putting up a series of wind turbines between Allen Youngblood's old rickety house and Bill Buchnanan's spin mill offices. The hot air generated between the two places is absolutely incredible.

The dynamic that has changed in this election is that some officeholders and candidates have teamed up for whatever reason. And part of what has precipitated all of this has been that Judge Cain publicly threw down the gauntlet about County Judge Fitzgerald's FEMA money antics. Cain committed himself to cleaning out some of the corruption in the courthouse when he said what he said. Fitzgerald teamed up with Hight at that pont and they recruited Merendino. Merendino pretended to be nterested in running for County Judge until the last minute when she signed up to run against Cain. Cain reading the handwriting on the wall decided to do what he almost did in 2006 and change parties. Then he decided if he wanted to truly change things he needed to recruit a candidate for district judge that would support purging the courthouse. Hight would never be able to hide all of his backroom wheeling and dealing except that his father in law as chairmen of the other party can help. Hight's relationships, both financial and family, have him in a position IF HE WINS to kind of be like his brother in law, Zeke Zbanek. So though some have advertised Judge Cain the Godfather of the Democratic party in oreder to damage him in the Republican primary, it is Hight who aspires to that position. And it is Cain's opponent, Merendino, who Hight hopes to help get him there. Cain on the other hand has risked everything by switching parties and by being the first public official to not only acknowledge hidden corruption, but by laying his reputation on the line right before an election. Democrats can try to turn me against him and turn me toward Hight's hand picked candidate, but too much of what looked at first like a cat coming out of the bag to not recognize it is Fitzgerald,Merendino, Zbranek, and Hight's skunk. It stinks and we better not let it stand in the courthouse or a whole different set of good ole boy will be set up for business. And they will have unroads in both parties!

I have always like Lester ray Wisegerber, but this is not the kind of chage us NON DEMOCRATS have been hoping for. Lester Ray you should not have run for office now a third time and been unable to work hard to beat Democrats. That is the job you have run for. I have looked past it up til now. Fist there was Norman Brown. Then there were a few other races you had friends running in the other party, and now it is Rusty Hight and company. I still like you, but I can't let you keep making exceptions and give reasons you are not whole heartedly trying to defeat Democrats. Whether you are being used by others or you are just using your friendship with a bunch of us in Dayton, your agenda is not mine. When go to the polls I will have to say no to you. When I see you in person though I will still shake your hand and be your friend.

I don't really understand all of the stuff with the Republican Party Chairman and his relationship to so many Democrats, but I do know Andy McCreight. He is an honest man. He is intelligent. He is a true conservative. He is willing to ruffle feathers but prefers to work with people. It is time to give someone else a chance.

To my knowledge there has never been a statue erected in honor of a critic. If there were to be one, perhaps a statue of Allen Youngblood and Chip Fairchild sitting at a singular typewriter tapping the keys and expressing their feelings of ill will after the election of Henry Patterson would be appropriate. To just make a statue of Allen or to just make one of Chip, well that could cause further jealousy. Put them together. Yes, they deserve to be together.

Maybe by the ChipAllen statue there could be other stories that show us all who to vote for and against. Maybe the statue could be placed in front of KSHN radio and Bill's statue could be erected and his political picks could be displayed in radiogram form. Oh yea, and he could include who should be brought before the grand jury by his statue.

Obama would undoubtedly find some stimulus funds for the statue idea presented by previous posters. These people are legends in their own minds. If people only knew what troubles they go to over politics and to get people on board with their candidates they would be repulsed.

I have to say I am in agreement with some of the sentiment I am reading. At times I have wondered if Chip Fairchid was the roving reporter for both KSHN and i-dineout. Look back in the stories over the years and it is a running advertisement from both that seem to be promoting Chip. Now that Chip's buddy's career was cut short by the voters and all of these rumors about the sheriff the voters chose are out there, Chip is suppose to seem like our logical choice for sheriff?

Rumors? Politics is always full of rumors. I would love to make it through the November election without hearing one more unsubstantiated rumor about the sex lives of Hight, Morefield, Merendino, or any other politician whose name pops up in the future. Rumors about Patterson that diminish him and help someone else run for sheriff do not interest me.

Get ready Ray Boy, Chip is already planning on claiming he has been a Republican his whole life when he runs for Greg Arthur's job. It is exactly what you warned against. People coming forward who have never darkened the doors of the Republican party and claiming whatever they want to in order to win. Hehehehe!

I do not read The Cleveland Advocate but I am certain it is at a minimum the masterpiece of reporting we have learned to expect here in Liberty County.

Anonymous said...

Masterpiece? I am sure this is sarcasm. Look at one of the statements on the "only daily news" organization: "In recent months readers of the KSHN Radiogram have quoted our newssheet as if it was the full story. We should remind them the Radiogram was created 25 years ago to encourage listeners to our full-length newscasts on the radio." Encourage lsieners? Encourage them to do what? Listen to "the full story"? Was there something implied in the short version in the "radiogram" that is incorrect or misleading? Or is the short version of their news kind of like cheese to catch what are considered rat like listeners by the Radiogram? Forget it. I am not biting. Not until KSHN and the Radiogram report it.

LYRIC'S TO A SONG -"STUCK IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOU" - Come to mind when I see the ATF, ATTORNEY GENERAL, and the TEXAS RANGER'S roaming around the SO...the lyrics go this way; "Clowns to the left of me (Patterson & Kelly), Jokers to the right (Cooper & Greene), here I am stuck in the middle with you (Liberty County Employees)!" CLOWN'S-(Kelly-running around without a gun...Patterson-((when you can find him))...TRYING to act like nothing has happened...or him saying: let me ask Stockton and RC what they think!)" JOKER'S -(Cooper and Greene- I don't know anything...I haven't heard that!)

I can see it now, a Historical Marker for Liberty with K-Shine & I-Dine the Corrupt news twins of Liberty County. The Liberty Metroplex news Tycoons, from the turn of the Century. They just could not help themselves from spinning tales and yarns from yesteryear. To all that will pass this way before them and after them, "GOOD RIDANCE".
