Dear Liberty Dispatch, you have got to be kidding....
![]() |
| LOGAN PICKETT AND JOHN JOSLIN |
You people are only touching the tip of the iceberg when you point to the problems our young smirking district attorney could cause this county. One example of the kind of thing Mr. Logan Pickett has done that is related to your current posting is providing aid to someone in a similar circumstance. Mr. Pickett's use of his position to take advantage of women will always give him something in common with some that come before our courts, but he also has something in common with anyone that commits what your last post called "official oppression".
Mr. Pickett used the power voters gave him to give a free pass to Constable John Joslin after a Grand Jury made up of Liberty County taxpayers indicted him for repeatedly sexually harassing a female working in Liberty County law enforcement. He tried to bypass the system by using the power and connections of the district attorney and it worked. John Joslin must have been on cloud nine. Joslin is a slippery snake and as many remember not that long ago he managed somehow to get out of a situation where had had posed as an official. even though he made the Houston news and embarrassed Liberty County, he escaped the consequences and kept his right to run for office. This more recent sexual harassment case looked like his Waterloo until Mr. Pickett saved his butt.
But Mr. Pickett's powers and his connections can only abuse the system for so long. John Joslin do what he does for only so long. How long?
Only as long as Liberty County citizens allow it. And Joslin was indicted again by our neighbors serving on the Grand Jury.
Mr.Pickett and Mr. Joslin have very little they can say to defend their behavior. they can say it is what they do in their private life and nobody else's business. But that has not worked well. So now they have to blame their actions on politics. "it is election time," you might hear the few defenders they have say. They can both say this but one Grand Jury has already reviewed evidence and they have shattered that excuse. That excuse shows how much they disregard, not just the law, but the lives of women.
Official oppression needs to stop in this county and public officials need to be certain that not only does it have to end, but those who believe they can lie their way out of the consequences of their behavior will be fired at the ballot box and their will be hell to pay beyond that.

DA Logan Pickett, you still haven't answered the question, WHEN DID YOU QUIT BEATING YOUR WIFE?
LOGAN, YOU DO NOT BEAT YOUR WIFE WHEN SHE CATCHES YOU CHEATING. YOU APOLOGIZE....
For over a year Logan Pickett had a chance to think about what his reaction would be if his wife caught him cheating. He had all that time to decide how he would react - ask for a divorce or beg for forgiveness, but he did neither. He did what he has a habit of doing. He hit her. He cheated. He whacks her in the head for bringing it up. But at least, if you listened, he made what you might describe as a weak apology publicly, but at least it was an apology,. He followed that up by marching the mother of his children out and making a public statement that he apparently believes puts his behavior to rest. He has publicly dismissed the affair he admits to having as something voters will easily get over. One apology for the public's ears and back to work. One apology many beatings....

| LIBERTY COUNTY DA, LOGAN PICKETT BOOKING PHOTO AND COURT |
Sorry Logan that is not how it works. All of 2019, you had a chance to consider what would happen if you ever had to go to court and answer for screwing someone on your (or really the taxpayer's) payroll. Logan had more than 12 months to learn to control himself and at least leave the courthouse. But he did not. Some may defend him and even be tempted to vote him another four year term if it was simply an affair. They could say to themselves,"Affairs are private matters". But this is much more than a private matter. This is official oppression. Having sex with a subordinate. In the courthouse. He effectively paid the object of his affection with taxpayer money thousands of dollars. He can refuse to resign. He can even run again for office. But he can not dismiss this and sweep it under the rug.
He can have her moved to another part of the courthouse as was done. He can even threaten to have someone else fire her if she does not continue their regular rendezvous in the courthouse as is alleged, but this could have huge consequences in the future. He can be charged, She can file a lawsuit. The county taxpayers could have to endure more embarrassing media reports and even a financial settlement.
Will that happen? It could. But the question we all should ask is what kind of person would vote to put Logan Pickett back in for four more years. He has already told you he is guilty and abandoned the "innocent until proven guilty" standard.

Men Who Beat Women Believe They Are Justified....
The reports pop up sporadically on the six o'clock news: On an otherwise agreeable afternoon, a simple mistake by an unsuspecting woman results in a severe beating at the hands of the man she loves like Liberty County DA, Logan Pickett...

It could be a simple matter. Perhaps she failed to empty the lint from the filter in the clothes dryer; or maybe dinner wasn't just right; or maybe she decided to go shopping with her best friend without telling her spouse about it beforehand; or maybe nothing happened at all. He just beat her.
In polite society, men who pound their wives and girlfriends senseless are viewed as out-of-control barbarians, violent and virulent, often drunk on liquor or power or both. And, until recently, polite society turned a blind eye to the plight of the beaten women and often continued to treat their attackers as though nothing were amiss.
But not all men who batter are simple Neanderthals who know what they do is wrong and choose to do it anyway. And researchers say alcohol and drug problems are "probably not the precipitants of abuse." Counselors and behavioral researchers say that batterers often feel justified in their behavior and that society is unfairly persecuting them for their actions.
"In my opinion, they (batterers) are not cold, but more likely seething with distressing emotions and out of control," said Dr. Ola Barnett, a researcher at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. "They may well have a limited conscience."
Dr. Barnett said batterers often feel justified in battering because they were reared in an environment -- whether a family or neighborhood -- where violence was accepted as a proper method for solving problems or enforcing the rules. Between 40% and 70% of batterers in clinical samples have been exposed to abuse in childhood.
"Newer studies are beginning to show that batterers may have suffered psychological abuse as well and consequently feel insecure," Dr. Barnett said. "As adults they become emotionally dependent upon a wife and expect her to be responsible for making them happy. When she cannot make them happy, she is "letting them down." They do not know how to achieve happiness on their own."
A common rationale expressed in group therapy is something like this: "I told her not to do it. She knew what would happen if she did. She did it. So, what option did I have? I had to hit her. She deserved it."
"Although wives of batterers may be provocative, they do not provoke their husband's abuse in reality," Dr. Barnett said. "Almost anything can set off a batterer."
John Eidt is the coordinator of the Family Violence Intervention Program at the Volusia County Domestic Violence Council in Daytona Beach, Florida. He says the men who wind up in his program most often used violence to exert control.
"Society traditionally has seen males as dominant, the ones who set the rules and who are charged with enforcing those rules," Eidt says. "Violence is an enforcement mechanism used by most men."
In a study to be published in February 1998, Dr. Barnett examined the motivations of 30 batterers.
The batterers say the lash out physically because:
"These men tend to be desperate about keeping their wives and beat them to prevent them from leaving," Dr. Barnett said. "They are miserable, suffering low self esteem, and are vulnerable to stress and hostile. They use battering to control their partners, and it seems to work, so they continue."
Disrupting that pattern of behavior is difficult, Dr. Barnett says.
In some states, such as Florida, accusations of domestic violence generate a mandatory arrest. Victims' advocates argue that arrest signals the batterer that society does not approve of his behavior. But an arrest is no panacea, Dr. Barnett says.
"Arrested batterers should be kept under the orders of the court to make them follow through with treatment," she says.
Eidt's Florida counseling program deals with men whose violence against their spouses and girlfriends landed them in court. Eidt carries out the court-ordered therapy, which consists of a 26-week educational process.
The batterers are taught to deal with their emotions in less destructive ways.
Eidt's program, based on what is known within the counseling profession as the Duluth Model, teaches such skills as economic partnership, shared responsibility, responsible parenting, honesty and accountability, trust and support, respect, non-threatening behavior and negotiation and fairness. Once the man understands his role in the relationship with his spouse or girlfriend and fosters mutual respect, the tendency toward violence subsides.
When the pressure builds toward a violent outburst, though, the batterer must have tactics prepared for dealing with it, Eidt says. That is where "cool downs" or "time-outs" come into play. "A cool down is like preventive medicine," Eidt says. "Before you get to that place where you don't care any more, you leave." The person taking the "cool down" goes somewhere to relax and think the problem through. Then he returns to discuss the problem and resolve it.
"Most men, even those who feel justified in their violent behavior, realize at some level that physical violence is not acceptable," Eidt says. "Most men don't pick on those smaller or weaker. So we focus on that and give them the tools and techniques they need to avoid violence."
Once these men really examine the incident that "provoked" them, the generally recognize it as inconsequential, Eidt says. "They need to think beforehand whether it's worth jail time, court costs and a fine to hit their wife because the TV was too loud," he says.
In the last year and a half, Eidt says, his counseling program has shown nearly 100% success, with no one who completed the entire 26 weeks returning to the court system for a violent outburst.
"We are teaching them how to live totally violent-free lives," Eidt says. "Not just at home. This carries over into the work place and disagreements with the boss or a neighbor."
Dr. Barnett says such cognitive psychotherapy is beneficial because "it teaches the batterer to reinterpret life's situations." She says studies have shown a reduction in physical abuse after 16 to 24 weeks among men who complete a program.
"Learning about options other than abuse is very helpful," she says. "It is not uncommon for a batterer to truly believe that he had not other choice. Time out is a useful adjunct to almost any treatment plan. The batterer learns to stop even the first blow."
Dr. Barnett also says anecdotal evidence suggests males who batter would profit from using anxiety-relieving drugs, such as Prozac. But little research has been published on that subject. Another approach that is highly debated in the psychology field is the treatment of batterers as part of a dysfunctional couple. Critics argue that such treatment may be dangerous for the victim and may leave the batterer with the impression that he does not have to assume complete responsibility for his violence.
Eidt says he can envision a time when the world will be without violence. But he cautions that such an Idyllic existence cannot materialize from the ether.
"In time, we will see everyone adopt the new "equality" belief system, in which men and women are partners and neither is superior or subservient," Eidt says. "Right now we are on the cutting edge of that. Most of the men in our program are still from the old school. Dad was the boss. But as more people are educated and society provides new role models to follow, we will see a change."

NO, MR.PICKETT SEX WITH EMPLOYEES AND BEATING YOUR WIFE IS NOT ACCEPTABLE
Dear Liberty Dispatch:
All who have visited Liberty Dispatch have had an opportunity to read firsthand, or to see reference our warning to Liberty County voters four years ago about a young attorney who had repeatedly proven he lacked the self discipline to quell is urge to hit women. Whether it is his momentary thoughts of superiority or a more serious philosophy about women, we expressed the idea that it would not be good for his wife, or Liberty County. or ultimately for him. to hold a highly visible public office. We said back then, and we say it again now, Mr. Pickett's best chance to learn to control his temper and his best chance to learn that women deserve to be treated like human beings and not like some animal in training, is to retreat to public life and to work hard on his marriage. And that taking a job that makes decisions about people who have committed domestic abuse and violence is the worst position someone with Mr. Pickett's problems should endeavor to hold.
Mr. Pickett has ignored our advise. And the advise many would give him. He has not only decided to run for a second term, his public behavior would tell most of us that he does not consider his problem any big deal. Surprisingly, he has publicly admitted he believes Liberty County voters will go the polls and vote for him and disregard then fact he stood before a Harris County Judge for beating his wife. He also has expressed the brazen idea that the public knowing his sexual relationship and affair with a subordinate.employee that is not his wife was only a factor to people running for office in places like Harris County, not Liberty County. We are unsure if he is saying people in Liberty County could care less about their public officials committing sexual crimes with at least two different women or if he is saying that the public spectacle of his behavior making the Houston news for days did not affect his voters or if Liberty County voters were either uninformed or not very bright. But whatever he meant, it was not a compliment to those of us who live here.
Though we have never met his opponent, our inquiries have indicated she is a good attorney and that she has a stable family life and a good reputation. Therefore, as odd as it may sound to some, we are in hopes that Republicans are supportive of Logan Pickett join those who support his opponent and do what is best for Liberty County. Vote for Jennifer Bergman.
Thank you Liberty Dispatch and Supporters

PARTISANSCHIFF: by Andrew McCreight
Adam Schiff is one of the most insignificant human beings that has ever occupied space on planet earth.
I cannot believe that the Democrats are allowing this Political Animal to drag them down into the political abyss. He is the worst example of what a politician should be. He is loyal to himself only. I do not believe that he has the best interest of the country at hand.
I do not care what comes out of the Impeachment Proceedings. I will henceforth an forever support President Donald Trump. He has turned the Washington Establishment on its head. He has done what no President has done before. He has created a Super Nova Economy. He has lifted more people out of poverty than any Human Being that has ever existed. He is a champion of the military. He has taken back control of World Events instead of bowing to foreign Leaders. He is making our Allies and Foes pay for play...ie...we are no longer having to shoulder all of the financial burden to keep Europe and the rest of the planet safe. HE IS DRAINING THE SWAMP!
As for as Quid Pro Quo goes when it comes to Ukraine, SO FN BE IT!
I want to know who was behind the corrupt attack on Candidate Donald Trump's campaign for the President of the United States. I want to FN know if Joe Biden's son was paid off and by whom. I want to know if Joe used the power of the Vice Presidents Office to Protect his Son. I want to know if the Ukrainians helped Hillary Clinton with the rotten no count Russian Conspiracy Connection that was never proven by Mueller, Comey, and the Deep State! I want just one of these sorry ass bastards to go to jail and prove to the American People that Justice is not a one way street. It is OK for democrats to go to jail!
I can say bad things about Democrats because in my younger years I was one.
But F'em now!

LIBERTY COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY - Logan Pickett, Arrested...
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Liberty County District Attorney has been arrested for assault in downtown Houston. Logan Pickett, 38, was taken into custody Saturday morning at the Westin Houston Downtown hotel, according to Houston police.
Pickett's wife told the hotel front desk clerk that she and her husband were at an event at Minute Maid Park and went to dinner before returning to the hotel. She said she found out after dinner that Pickett had been having an affair for the past 15 months, according to police, causing an argument to begin. That is when police say he pushed his wife, causing her to hit her head. Medics on the scene determined she needed three stitches to close her wound, but police say she refused medical attention. Pickett is charged with assault against a family member, a class A misdemeanor.
After confirming that the couple was attending an event, Pickett told police he had nothing more to say. Pickett was sworn in as the Liberty County District Attorney in 2013. He graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2006, according to the Texas Bar Association.
Prior District Attorney Michael Little left office in 2012 after he was accused of trading sexual favors with criminal defendants male and female. Michael Little placed Logan Picket into office to take his place. Logan Pickets dad, Carl Pickett Mayor of Liberty Texas, in a Quid Pro Quo move appointed Michael Little as Liberty Texas Municipal Judge. When Michael Little appointed Logan Pickett as interim District Attorney, Liberty Dispatch warned Liberty County there were serious allegations of Logan Pickett beating his wife in Harris County and Liberty County. It is also alleged Logan got out of his continued pattern of domestic violence through his father’s connections as Mayor of Liberty, Texas.
The Liberty County corruption continues .... the Lord has much work left to do in Liberty County. The curse continues until the Liberty County corruption swamp is drained. Who will fall next?
LIBERTY COUNTY WAS WARNED ABOUT PICKETT BACK IN 2012

Congressional Republicans should hold an informational meeting-Outside the Schiff Show! :by Andrew McCreight
After watching the Impeachment Hearing Fiasco, I would like to ask the Republicans to hold informational meetings such as the Town Hall meetings they hold individually in their home districts.
Set it up as an informal hearing. Call all the witnesses that they wanted to have at the Adam Schiff Show. Ask all the questions that they wanted to ask at the Schiff Show.
Let the American people hear from people who are not Democrat Operatives.
After the informal hearing, I want President Trump to fire Kent and Taylor and any other Obama hold overs that are still in the Trump government.
THIS IS OUR TIME!
TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP!
