Dear Liberty Dispatch

I was very involved in Republican politics before 2008 and am very excited to see someone connecting the dots and exposing District Attorney Mike Little’s record, or should I say lack of a record, in performing his duties in dealing with corruption.

For years, Mr. Little and his buddy, Texas Ranger Frank Huff, made a perfect team for any public official wanting to cheat system. They were always willing to be deaf, dumb, and blind on matters certain matters and vigilante and almost hyperactive and willing to spare no expense on other matters.

Where can I go to be first in line to sign a petition for his removal from office?

Hey Ray

You may want to check into the hush hush surrounding KSHN ‘s Bill Buchanan’s efforts to try and bury under the jailhouse the man alleged to have broken into his house.

Buchanan is so arbitrary in deciding what is fair and just. Many Easters his radio channel features one of his employees who is a convicted sex offender. The fact his employee attacked a mother and a daughter and traumatized them at the point of a knife doesn’t seem to deter Buchanan from exposing other people’s daughters and mothers to his employee. Buchanan considers himself somewhat of a preacher about second chances when he justifies doing this. Undoubtedly he loves the backdrop of Easter to feel good about his “reformed” sexual predator experiment.

But he is full of shit. Behind closed doors here in Liberty County for decades he is a self appointed puppet master. With no one looking, his forgiving spirit fades. He is not worried about the effects of a knife at the throats of two females near as much as someone threatening to take some of his precious silverware.

Look into it Ray. It is pitiful.

Gag Order fight to continue...

(Liberty County- 04/19/11) In the 12 years old girl Cleveland, Texas rape case, today Judge Mark Morefield has reaffirmed his original 'Gag Order' ruling and now seals the documents related to the case.

Local and national media have expressed interest in taking Judge Morefield's ruling to a legal appeals process. Briefs are expected to be filed as early as next Monday.

Sources allege that Liberty County DA, Mike Little is using the Gag Order for political cover in regard to his failure to investigate and halt the alleged sexual exploitation if the Cleveland, Texas 12 years old girl.

The news media appears to also be alienated because of false or erroneous information related to the prior reporting of the Cleveland, Texas sexual assault case.

Gag Orders- Wikipedia:

A gag order (also known as a gagging order or suppression order) is an order, sometimes a legal order by a court or government, other times a private order by an employer or other institution, restricting information or comment from being made public.

Gag orders are often used against participants involved in a lawsuit or criminal trial. They are also a tool to prevent media from publishing unwanted information on a particular topic. A Criminal Court, for instance, will issue a gag order on the media if the judge believes that potential jurors in a future trial will be influenced by the media reporting or speculation on the early stages of a case. Another example might be to ensure police are not impeded in their investigations by media publicity about a case.

In a similar manner, a 'gag law' is intended to limit freedom of the press, by instituting censorship or restricting access to information.

Dear LD

I don’t know if the two suspects accused of running over fifteen years old Charli Gore are guilty or not, but if you ask some out here in Westlake you will know how tragic and avoidable this whole mess has been.

The Dayton High School student was a resident of the Indian Ridge Subdivision and had been at a party out here near the spillway at the end of CR 443. To no one’s surprise out here an altercation occurred. Rumors about what actually happen abound, but if you know the whole story it is the years that led up to this whole mess that make you really mad and sad all at the same time.

You see the party was organized to celebrate the conviction and sentencing of Shelia Muhs for the murder of a little fellow that lived out here, Donald Coffey. She was sentenced to life in prison. But the problems started out here years ago. Nothing was done about it. Complaint after complaint after complaint fell deaf on the ears of the District Attorneys office. They didn’t want to spend the time or the money to deal with much smaller, much less costly problems. So now look what we have. Two young people dead! And people going to prison and costing us way more than what it would have cost us to deal with littler stuff.

I wish one of the Houston tv channel would come talk to some of us out here and find out how the people we trust to protect us dropped the ball and actually helped this to happen.

Liberty County Attorney, Wes Hinch- Official Misconduct

Misdemeanors are criminal offenses for which a person can be fined $4,000 or less and be sentenced to county jail for up to one year and they include crimes like simple assault, theft and DWI, first or second offense. Prosecuting this class of criminal offense in Liberty County is very important and necessary to encourage juveniles to respect the law and to keep DUI and DWI drivers off of the road - and juvenile sex offenders among many other things.

There are three classes of misdemeanor – A, B, and C. Previous investigation have indicated there is a problem in the courthouse with an unwillingness to prosecute juvenile misdemeanor cases, but complaints made to Liberty Dispatch indicate the problem is far worse than we first thought. Sources in the highest and the lowest places in Liberty County are voicing concerns that Liberty County Attorney Wes Hinch is more often than not refusing to prosecute all three classes of cases brought to him- clearly official misconduct on the part of Hinch.

Exact sentences are generally up to the judge, with recommendations from the prosecutor and, in certain cases, from the jury. In Liberty County, however, Judges and juries are far too often not even getting a chance to hear the cases. The deterrent prosecuting and publicizing things like DWI and juvenile sentences is currently an underused tool in Liberty County’s battle against crime because of the County Attorney’s inaction.

Different theories of why the County Attorney is shirking his responsibilities range from simple laziness to lack of confidence because of a lack of courtroom experience. His behavior is similar to that of the District Attorney who uses a strategy of endless delays and avoidance of courtroom showdowns to mask his own personal preferences and priorities, lack of skills, or political agenda.

It is the revelations of how the two men in charge of prosecuting cases are failing to protect us that make their participation in the annual vigil for victims so hypocritical. It is their lack of shame in using such a platform that makes the politics of both of these men – District Attorney Mike Little, a longtime Democrat and County Attorney Wes Hinch a first term Republican – obviously deceptive.

Their defense will likely be “we have budget problems”. But Hinch has stood by quietly and allowed his budget to be cut. And the fines and court costs involved in many of these cases results in a profit rather than an expense. As for DA Mike Little, his budget is bulging at the seams and has grown like a malignant cancer through thick and now thin economic times.

2012 is an election year, so get ready for political spin on this issue. In the meantime, lock your doors and get a security system for your house. The Sheriff’s Department and the JP’s and the Judges are doing their jobs, but the prosecutors are making crime the worst it has ever been in Liberty County.

Dear LD

I did my part. All of the horrific business practices coming out of that courthouse can be traced back to the commissioners and the county judge. My votes have been votes to change who is making those decisions.

I agree, if we have any choice at all we should get someone better at handling both the legal and business part of the County and District Attorney’s office. But when we voted out our own neighbors out here in Hardin that should have sent a clear message to these damn lawyers. We are sick of the way you manage OUR business! We like Phil but we sent him to the house. Lee has gotten us more than any area in the county, but we sent him to the house. What makes these two men think we are going to put up with them treating their offices like their own private piggy bank? I can’t figure.

I can’t figure why the Dayton area didn’t kick Norman Brown out on his butt, but I guess they figured he may straighten up as a Republican or they figured his Democratic opponent would be just as bad. Whatever... Liberty has the worst commissioner in the county and if they don’t get rid of Todd Fontenot and if Cleveland doesn’t get rid of Melvin Hunt, it will be hard to stop the way we have wasted and misallocated taxpayer money in Liberty County.

Whatever happens, Hardin voters have done our part. We will be watching and hoping for Craig McNair to lead. He should yell from the water tower when Todd and Melvin pull some of the stuff they always pull.

Candlelight vigil...

A candle burning for all the victims of Liberty County DA, Mike Little's - Malicious Prosecution, Selective Prosecution, Official Oppression, Refusal to Dismiss Cases of the Innocent, Sexual Assault of Prisoners, Civil Rights and Racial Offenses.

DA Promotes selfish and perverted re-election bid through candlelight vigil of crime victims.

Liberty County DA, Mike Little
Liberty County DA, Mike Little has created a candlelight vigil in honor of crime victims and child abuse victims.

HCN: "The Office of Liberty County District Attorney Mike Little has issued a county-wide invitation to attend the candlelight vigil for crime victims and child abuse victims which will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Liberty Center, City of Liberty Municipal Complex, 1829 Sam Houston Ave., Liberty, Texas.

The Liberty County District Attorney’s Office, the Liberty County Attorney’s Office, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Center, BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), and New Horizon Family Center are co-sponsoring the vigil.

The purpose of the vigil is to help the public honor victims of crime, their families and those who serve them and to alert the public to the realities of crime, and express hope for a less violent future.

The vigil is a part of the local observance of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which is scheduled for the week of April 10 to April 16, 2011.

The theme of Crime Victims’ Rights Week this year is “Reshaping the Future, Honoring the Past.”

The reality of what going on here is Liberty County DA, Mike Little trying to make political hay of the young girl in Cleveland Texas he an Texas Ranger allowed to be sexually raped and exploited- over and over again.

Mike Little has used his connections with Bridgehaven child advocacy to include multiple other community crime victim groups.

Liberty Dispatch has learned that Mike Little has contacted the national media promoting his shameless self promotion and re-election bid through this event.

Liberty Dispatch wonders if all the victims of Mike Little's sexual assault and selective prosecution will be honored in this tainted crime vigil.

This crime vigil would be a great showing of victims rights but for the fecal aroma that Liberty County DA, Mike Little and his office brings.

Dear Liberty Dispatch

Good luck on Liberty County getting rid of District Attorney Mike Little. It will be almost impossible. We worked hard to get him out of our courthouse and it took years to do it. He thinks way more about politics and how to get what he personally wants than cases coming up in court.

To make matters worse, Little is not going to be your only problem. You have probably already discovered that some people will try to help protect him and cover up his behavior. We discovered that happens whenever you deal with one of these people. Lawyers tend to gather together around their own and try and keep on the good side of those in power look at a website by Hunter Biederman. Biederman is an attorney and the self described “go to guy for DWI”. He has taken upon himself to put on his blog a defense of their county indicted Assistant District Attorney. This is not unusual. No matter the accusation or the evidence, prominent people in a community and in the legal profession will make it difficult to remove a bad District Attorney.

Name kept private just in case this DA has still got connections down south.
