Controversial prior Liberty County judge candidate Jay Knight has announced he will seek the office of Liberty County Judge. Jay Knight is not without his many detractors. Many are saying that Knight is part of the good ole boy network in Dayton who plans to arrogantly stranglehold Liberty and the rest of Liberty County. In other related news, Pct 4 JP, Barry Graves, has publicly expressed that he will run against current Pct 4 commissioner, Norman "pothole" Brown.

whoo hooo this is going to be good. What about Donna Brown and Paulette Williams?
Jay Knight has been snookered by Barry Graves into running for County Judge. Graves constant request for more money has been shut down by conservatives like Craig McNair who are trying to get the spending under control. Knight should have signed up to run for commissioner. He would win the commissioner's race. Now Dayton will split their vote and another candidate will walk easily into the county judge seat.
McNair has made enemies because he insist on the priority of elected officials being fiscal restraint. I suppose Mr. Knight has been pumped up to run by those who want the purse strings loosened. With all respect due to Knight, the taxpayers need someone like McNair.
Jay "Honky Tonk" Knight creep'in off his lawn mower to put his name on the ballot again? Looks like those people who wanted a bigger budget persuaded the grass and bush man to recant after his strong endorsement of Craig McNair in the run off three years ago.
My complaint about Craig McNair as our county judge isn't that he leaves town on weekends too much. My complaint is that he leaves too little. He is like the Grinch who stole Christmas when it comes to money. County employees need a raise, Cleveland needs better roads, and the sheriff's office is not a management company that can compete with professionals we can contract with. If Craig would leave town more often maybe we could sneak in some progress.
I wonder if Jay Knight can come over and buff the hood of my car.
Perhaps the beautiful job the commissioners and county judge and county workers did in cleaning up and re-sodding the courthouse gave Knight the idea he is the most qualified man for the job.........
Jay is a nice guy but he and others have started a whisper campaign that is not true about our county judge. This county judge spends a great deal LESS time campaigning and promoting himself than Kirkham or Fitzgerald and a great deal more time solving problems. he spends a thousand more hours working on saving money than any judge we have ever had and almost no time sitting around figuring how he can spend county money on how it will help his re-election. Jay endorsed him but has done nothing my knowledge to help any of the conservatives when they have been criticized for doing the right thing.
Jay Knight has spent more time in honky tonks than Judge McNair has with his own children. Shame on you for saying what I have heard come out of your own mouth Jay.
Now we can privatize lawn care and the county can fire some more employees?
Here comes da judge! Now is the time for empty headed Tookie Kirkham to make his return to politics! The former head of the Democrat's party says he has seen the light and he is now a Republican. Clear to run on the GOP ticket with Dayton splitting their vote on Jay Jay and Judge McNair, the Tookmeister is a shoe in.
jay knight the "lawnmower man".
Yea, maybe get rid of that $40K a year janitor the county has.
McNair is disliked by the big spenders who benefit from county govt
Mr. Knight draws pictures of yards, he has people do most of the work. Mr. Knight's father went to Harvard. He is no doofus.
Its nice of Jay Knight to run for county judge, does that mean he is going to put down the bottle and keep his __________ in his pants.
Please do tell more...
Those wanting to talk to Jay Knight about his second run for county judge, please note he will be at Softails Bar in Baytown July 20th. Run by and have a cold one!
