"Hospital District: Negotiations between the Liberty County Hospital District and EmergencyHospitalsof Texasabout a possible emergency care facility to be built in Daytonare moving forward. Hospital District President Bruce Stratton said the board will meet on Monday April 8th. He said at that time the hospital district board will consider setting a time and location for a public workshop on the issue."
COMMENTARY: LD and supporters want to know if the claimed actions of the Liberty Hospital District helping Dayton, Texas are for real... or just for appearances sake?

My gut feeling is that this is just a stalling action to keep Dayton on the hook with the LCHD #1 and to keep that city from pulling out of the Hospital District and, thus, losing that tax income. Time will tell...and, I'm willing to give them the benefit of a doubt...but, it will be a short time period benefit.
I have my doubts but like you and LD Im willing to take a wait and see. Maybe the LCHD can finally help all those who have been paying taxes to it.
Since the Cleveland Hospital is faltering, I think LCHD should take the Cleveland Hospital and then LCHD has all parts of the county covered.
I just want to say I support the Liberty County Commissioners in their decision to put the Liberty County EMS up for bids. This IS the American way. Finally most the commissioners we have are worth their salt.
Will be a sad day in Lib. county if we lose Liberty County EMS. For better than 6 years, I have had the pleasure of being a First Responder in Liberty County. I have responded to calls & waited for EMS to show. Liberty County EMS has always responded to calls 2x faster, & have been true professionals at their job. Acadian Ambulance Service has ALWAYS been slow to respond & I will not even speak of Americare. When a life is on the line, response time & quality of care, are key to the patients survival. To give up Liberty County EMS to save a few dimes for the county, would be a HUGE mistake IMHO.
Many times outside companies can do a better job than the good ole boys network. The payoffs and back door deal hurt the system.
