As difficult as it is for many of us to believe this country would embrace the wildest tax and spend politician ever to reside at 1600 Pennsylania Avenue, they did. Barack Hussein Obama has already set new records for the U.S history books to record on such things as “most money borrowed by any President”, and now he has four more years to drown the economy in more borrowing and spending as the record is inflated to numbers unheard of before he arrived. But what are we sensible, practical voters to do now that we lost and theman has the credit card and the printing press ready to spray U.S. currency all over the place as he digs the hole even deeper.
One group of principleless Republicans is pushing for the more conservative of the two parties to become less conservative. That is not an option for anyone with a soul and anyone who aspires to help this country adhere to the creed “in God we trust.
What about the other extreme though. Some conservative zealots have said what most of us only have joked about. Peter Morrison, treasurer of the Hardin County Republican Party, wrote a column in the post-election edition of his Tea Party newsletter this week calling for an "amicable divorce" from the U.S., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
"Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government?" he wrote. "Let each go her own way."
Giving up our principles or giving up on the country is a ridiculous reponse to what can clearly be fixed by working on attracting conservative hispanics to the more conservative of the two parties. If that looks like a long re-building idea to you then you have not connected the dots to the runaway election of Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz, a conservative Republican, is a former college debate champion and Supreme Court litigator, and a top notch public speaker. He requires no teleprompter to find the words to connect withhis audience. His closet is without any Mormon or Muslim connections. He is one of several political newcomers who offer hope to Republicans after a disappointing election.
.
Ted Cruz, a lawyer who was solicitor general of Texas from 2003 to 2008, combines a compelling personal biography with philosophically pure conservatism. He won his Senate primary in an upset over mainstream candidate Lt. Governor David Dewhurst earlier this year, partly by adhering to the secure-the-borders mentality popular with most Texas Republicans. He promised to triple the size of the U.S. Border Patrol and to build a larger border wall than his opponent proposed. In January, when he is sworn in, he will become one of the most right-wing members of the U.S. Senate. A Tea Party favorite who also happens to be Hispanic. Which means he also starts out with credibility with both the hispanic community and the conservative community. A Reaganisque plan from him to allow the 11 million hispanic illegal immigrants to stay here with a legal status that enables them to work here, but does not offer them full cituizenship, could be part of a solution that also includes the mega-fence and fills the holes terrorists must surely be licking their chops to keep open.

the sole attribute of a hispanic surname is hardly the way to salvage Texas' interests in the run amock US spending, and liberal policies, leading to the fiscal cliff. However, the Texas secession petition now has over 25,000 signatures, and has reached both the Governor's desk, as well as the White House. No response, as yet.
The secession petition states that Texas has both a balanced budget and world's 15th largest economy.

It can certainly stand on its own, as its own republic (as it was before it became a state.) Unlike the other 49 states, Texas joined the union by contract, which has two notable features. First, it can become a republic again, anytime it so chooses. Second, it can divide into five states, and immediately get ten US Senators, as per the US Constitution. I am not advocating any of these steps, but certainly agree that Texas has next to nothing in common with the gay marriage states, and liberal factions of the rest of the country.
Another interesting point, is to consider that Texas has needed a new constitution for quite some time (having many times the amendments as the US Constitution.) The failure to draft a new one, has always had the same problem: nobody could agree on who got to be its writers, or even on the committee.
For this reason, I'm sure that any plans for recession would meet with the same fate- total failure to agree, as to the new constitution, governing bodies, and laws.
That is all very true, however, we must rid ourselves of these RINO's first. Head Liberty County chief RINO, Little Timmy Allison, is already acting like a Democrap in Republican clothing. He must really think he's somebody - poor little rural constable. Hope Harris County slaps a bracelet on you along with your badge of authority.
Wonder why i-dineout took down the Tim Allison story? Still protecting their Democrat brothers and sisters?
Ted Cruz having a hispanic surname is just an added benefit to the fact he can articulate the conservative message as well as any democrat can articulate their nonsense. Cruz has very little baggage and is the liberals worst nightmare. he is way more than a demographic fit.
Now that Liberty County has tossed Fonetnot over into the unemployed heap next to that idiot Tookie Kirkham, maybe we can get the county back on solid ground and prepare to showcase Texas as the democrats show off california.
Cruuuuuz vs Hillary! I love it. Hillary can spend her time trying to take credit for the good economy during Bill's years and distancing herself from Obama's "recovery", while Cruz shows why is was a debate champion.
the first comment shows the lackings of the Republican National Committee. Had they made sure that Texas divided into 5 states, getting 10 red state senators; that would have given them immediate control of the US Senate. Somebody at national wasn't thinking...
I have noticed this conservative website has resisted the temptation to cry for secession. I applaud you. I am certain Texas hero Sam Houston would applaud you too. In that 1860 speech, Houston posed questions that also can be asked of today's secessionists:
"What do these men propose to give you in exchange for this Government? All are ready to admit their ability to pull down, but can they build up? I have read of the glory of a Southern Confederacy, and seen the schemes of rash enthusiasts; but no rational basis has been presented.... [W]here are their Washingtons, their Jeffersons, and Madisons? Where is the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism which brought the Union into existence, and maintained it amid privation and danger? Look at the men who are crying out disunion, and then ask yourselves whether they are the men you would chose to create a new government."
