For years local Republicans have warned about the consequences of supporting the Democrat party and its candidates. In order to get conservatives to elect local Democrats party leaders often denied the connections between liberals at the national level and any negative effects of continuing to give power to local Democrats. The warnings of how liberal Democrats would behave if they ever elected one of their goofball lefties to run the party has now become a reality and the effects of it are trickling down to our beloved Texas.
From their crazy economic philosophy of trying to “spend us out of a recession” to their disastrous efforts to force universal healthcare in uncertain economic times, Democrats are finally kicking their long held beliefs in gear with Barack Hussein Obama as the head of their organization. Texans, as conservative as we generally are, have no place to hide. We may be better off than most states and people may be fleeing them to get here, but this administration’s attacks on small businesses and corporations and success in general continue to be a heavy burden on every state in the union. While Obama continues to blame George W. Bush, he also continues to set records for being the slowest human being to catch on and do the things that help this country recover from tough times.
Texas will not be able to hide, and Liberty county will not be exempt, if Democrats include legalizing gay marriage in their party platform and they are successful in passing it through Congress. All those have said party doesn’t matter and all of those who have asked rhetorically, “what difference does a party platform make, no one reads it” will soon have an opportunity to learn that the planks in a party platform are the ultimate goals of a majority of any political party.
Obama is a dream come true for liberals who have wanted to move more aggressively to achieve their goals. Not coincidentally, he is the downfall of the local Democrat party here in Liberty county. Politicians are jumping ship in droves and denying they ever were anything but conservatives since someone is really pushing this country to incorporate the socialists’ beliefs about more government influence and less Christian influence.
We will have a chance in less than 100 days to stop giving the Democrat party any influence from here when the few local Democrats that did not retire or camouflage themselves as Republicans face the voters. Any local Democrat politician who did not switch parties and ran on the same ticket as Barack Obama has no claims to conservatism. And conservatives surely will recognize this and send them packing in November.

I am proud of Commissioners Fontenot and Hunt and i am sure they join me in being proud of our President. This article must be written by someone still angry that sarah Palin didn't get elected President.
With all due respect, Sarah Palin did not run for President. And I am not, and have never been satisfied with commissioners like Lee Groce, Todd Fontenot,and Marvin Hunt. If you have ever gone to commisoners court you have had a good chance to see them bargain with each other in order to get as much taxpayer moeny as they can so they can spend,spend, spend.
Fontenot is bragging he will turn out 2000 voters from Ames and no one can stop him from re-election because he has the black vote. i do not know of one white person that considers race as a factor in deciding on who to vote for, but Fontenot seems to know some blacks that do
I never consider a color when I vote. I also will not vote for anyone who plays the race card to get elected. If Fontenot thinks he will get elected by the voters of Ames and does not consider the rest of the voters in his precinct then he is an idiot. (HAWK)
Both socialism and government payouts breed lifetime democrat dependent voters. Likewise, bankrupt cities, counties, and states breed lifetime democrats, dependent on government grants,-bailouts, and subsidies. The more we allow democrats at the local and county levels, the more dependence, they spend us into... following the grand design of socialism.
The question becomes: how to break the cycle of overspending, ever increasing government dependence, and socialism? (which breeds the ever increasing TAXES to support it)???
No, we aren't losing the "Bush tax cuts," this New Years. Rather, the "Clinton tax rates" are returning, as is the gutting of the military (for the Clintonian "peace dividend," to be funneled into socialism programs)!

Obama is relaxing the rules requiring healthy people to back to work rather than draw welfare for extended periods of time. he wants to enlarge the Democrats' voter base by making more people dependent on government.

Commissioner Fontenot is a fair and good man and has been a good commissioner. Hunt is a liar and needs to go home. Eddie Lowery is a good christian man and will be goof for commissioners court.

I find it extremely disturbing that a commissioner in this state does not have a firm grasp of the English language and I quote,
"I think it sends the absolute wrong message, that the majority of commissioners is not looking for changes, is not looking for the port to do better, to be more honest and transparent," Commissioner Jack Morman said.
If you change the two words that are wrong in this sentence and both are the same word, from "is" to "are" we might actually be getting somewhere. While I agree with his statement, I would expect that a college educated man would use proper grammar. If the education problem in this country doesn't turn around soon then we are all doomed.
As far as the good "Christian" man thing on a previous comment, I would like to state that there is no such thing.

I think there is law enforcement in Liberty County who want the corruption put to an end. The ones with the courage to take on corruption have my respect.
Melvin Hunt stabbed his best friend in the back (Lee Groce. That makes him a pretty sorry person in my book. I will consider that about him when I go to vote. I have met Mr. Lowery and he seems to be a very fair & honest man with the best for Liberty County at heart.
