PATTERSON’S EMBARRASSMENT CONTINUES

Texas Monthly can write some pretty good stuff and they can write some pure trash, but no matter which one they write they have a large readership. Their January edition will prove to add some more embarrassment for Liberty County and our absentee sheriff, Henry Patterson and one of the Harris county men he has hired since he took office (Rex Evans).

Here is a quote from Texas Monthly in the January 2012 issue:

“I see Dead Law Enforcement Careers.” Texas Monthly goes on to say, “News sites around the world posted near real-time updates as Liberty County Sheriff’s Officers and FBI agents mounted urgent, high-profile searches of two properties on consecutive days, fruitlessly looking for a purported mass grave of up to thirty bodies. The law officers later admitted that the operation was based on unsolicited tips from a self described psychic.”

We are yet to see Sheriff Patterson books and find out whether or not he is using money and assets from criminal seizures to pay for rogue investigations by unlicensed private contractors or whether or not political hacks are on the payroll to try and fight bad public relations from things like this Texas Monthly story.

Therefore, until Patterson deals from the top of the deck we can assume Liberty County has more embarrassments to endure. It doesn’t take a psychic to know there are unusual things going on under Patterson’s leadership. Patterson has until early April to prove to the public otherwise or to paint his two opponents as worse than he is.

Stay tuned.

If it is true our sheriff as late as June of this year was thinking of retiring, we need to run whoever talked him out of it out of town.

hahahahaha - They are already from out of town!

If Texas Monthly ever came into town and checked on this sheriff and some of Rex Evans other "press releases", we wouldall have red ears at what they would say about this county.

Agreed. Let's train the good ones, the ones that are doing their job, and promote them INSTEAD OF HIRINGPEOPLE WHO HAVE GOTTEN IN TROUBLE ELSEWHERE.

Henry is a poor leader. Henry suffers more from hiding from the media and the people than if he would be more available.

I will agree that the psychic call got way out of control, but I am so puzzled as to why it is the LCSO fault, they went out on a call that needed to be followed up on. I think that everyone will agree with me that someone who could commit a crime like this would have to be crazy ?? So because an unstabled person called this in we should not follow up on it ?? Come on, these are the calls that need to be listened to. The media took information giving to them from unknown sources and instead of calling in to law enforcement and confirming this information they just ran with it and blew it up !!! I for one am glad that there was no bodies and I hope that our officers dont let all this scare them from following up on calls that come in from crazy people who do these crazy things. We dont need to bring the hard working people under Patterson into this race. Patterson is losing all on his own and his employees dont need to be punished because of him.

Rex Evans has an impossible job of trying to get positive publicity for a poor leader. No one has to wonder what happen. Patterson's man Rex was doing what he always does (what he was hired to do0, help Patterson get positive media. he called a news media outlet or two or three and then they called their affiliates. This story is just like the marijuana field story, it is not about bad law enforcement (deputies). It is about a politically greedy Patterson wanting to hide and also wanting to be seen (positively0 in the media. Evans can't help Patterson. He doesn't make the call on how to handle the dope busts and if he made the call on the fake mass murder scene, he should have been reprimanded. he was not. Patterson needs to retire. he is using non department personell to chase non-crimes and not concentrating on the people that are trying to harm Liberty County citizens.

I agree. Patterson and the Outsiders appear to be using taxpayer personell and resources to pressure and attack Patterson enemies and not the public's enemies.

You are so full of it. Prove Henry is misusing public assets. You won't because you can't.

Please have your buddy or your daddy-in-law open the records up and show the people who pay his salary what he has spent his slush fund money on. Every dime. Then prepare to eat crow!

Patterson's campaign reports from his 2008 and his 2004 race are more full of holes than Robert Valdez's next flat tire customer's GoodYear.

just read the commissioners court agendas. you will see that all uses of LCSO seizure money, or as LD calls it, "LCSO slush fund", has to be approved by commissioners court.

I would like to see James Carson run for sheriff! He is a good man and always has been!

nothing has been mentioned about the wrecked dually truck assigned to Louis Taylor Guthrie, that was wrecked on bridge to Padre Island, during a conference. if you talk to the right person, down there he was drunk and was covered for. What was reason to assign a dually truck(gas eater)to an emplyee, to sit ever evening at a sleezy bar in Huffman?

WHAT....James Carson---ARE YOU CRAZY????

We need to hire people who can do their jobs, and if they are not from here who cares !! Everyone of us have had jobs that we have made mistakes at and sometimes it is just time to move on, that does not mean that we can't go to work somewhere else, as long as our officers are out there doing their jobs and protecting this county I dont give a rats a** as to where they are from.
