A group of private citizens that have presented themselves to the public with almost no information except that they are interested in fighting corruption in Liberty County and that they call themselves “The Outsiders”, will be watching and waiting with the rest of us to hear the results of Wednesday’s Grand Jury.
This group with the motto, “When a man who is honestly mistaken hears the truth, he will either quit being mistaken, or cease to be honest” has carefully documented what they consider highly illegal behavior by a handful of local officials with the results from their own open records requests. Included in their investigations was the infamous Joe Warren case which is now the object of so much interest as it is scheduled for Grand Jury review this coming Wednesday.
Readers of Liberty Dispatch are of course familiar with their crusade because they posted several stories on this website warning Liberty County citizens about a cartel of people who were perverting the justice system. Recently The Outsiders started their own website in order to pursue their goals unencumbered by any restraints or criticism they may have endured because they were mere contributors to Liberty Dispatch. The unknown "Outsiders" still promote their agenda unencumbered by their true identities being reviewed.
No one at Liberty Dispatch is part of the Outsiders so we can only speculate about their motives and their future plans. It appears to us the group has some capable and determined people who research and investigate information they have collected and publicly post findings they think may be of interest to federal investigators and/or the local sheriff’s department in hopes proper authorities will pick up where they left off.
Liberty Dispatch applauds any successful efforts by The Outsiders and anyone else that is sick and tired of the corruption we have been fighting for years. We also applaud any law enforcement that looks for leads anywhere they can find them, including the internet.
Most of Liberty County’s bad apples have been removed via the voting box. We have tried to play a role in informing the public of problems we have become aware of in addition to posting the early actions of The Outsiders and efforts made by the feds and LCSO.
We are however trying to make sure the public is aware that we are fiercely independent from any of these groups. Recently we have become aware of an effort to get the public to see us as one in the same as The Outsiders and as some kind of ad hoc part of the LCSO, we are neither.
As The Outsiders go forward and as the feds and LCSO go forward, we will applaud their successes but we have no desire to be so closely associated with them that we are perceived to be in lock step.
After the Joe Warren indictment... Liberty Dispatch wonders where "The Outsiders" and the LCSO will go next?

sick and tired? Count me in.
me too
Who are the outsiders?
I hope they get those corrupt #urds out of the courthouse.
I dont care if the outsiders are from mars, if they can help the sheriff clean up Liberty County, go for it.
Liberty County District Clerk Donna Brown forms the grand juries. I hope she does the right thing and not gives into temptation to scheme with Mike Little and Joe Warren.
We will see...
It appears they opened a blog and then went limp.
LD dont crawfish now !
I hope the outsiders are still investigating Royce Wheeler the Constable that stole all of the ammo and money from his so called gun range. Royce Wheeler aquired the property for the gun range from a known drug dealer and then set up the scam to steal from the citizens of his precinct. When will he be investigated by a grand jury and sent to prison like Harry Kelley?
that will never be in print, with the editor on his zipper.
Yeah, most bad apples have been removed from office except for Mike Little and Wes Hinch.
Tonight at the TEA Party meeting in Liberty, attorney James Farmer has announced he will be seeking the office of Liberty County District Attorney. Best of luck to you Mr. Farmer...
If you want to investigate corruption going on in Liberty county then the Outsiders ought to make a trip over to Cleveland and knock on the door of the Chief of Police. Ask him to account for all the money from the red light ticket funds. Also I'm pretty sure he is being investigated by a federal agency right now for possible official oppression charges.
Those three patrol cars and that personal suv for the chief, the department obtained were supposed to be paid for using only red light funds. But instead they're being leased which means if the red light cameras ever get shut down then the city won't be able to afford those cars anymore and they will be subject to reposession. That would be embarrassing! What does the chief need a brand new suv for anyways? He was just fine in his black crown vic.
Strange that anyone would see LD as crawfishing. You seemto be making sure that we (the public) understand that other people have seen how corrupt this county has been and they are weighing in. It must feel good to be validated. Kee p us posted on their efforts and your take on it.
I could tell the special crimesunit of the LCSO was working real close with someone. 'mnot sure how I feel about that but it is helpful to know Liberty Dispatch is reporting on rather than orchestrating the special unit's actions.
Could you please tell us who the heck James farmer is? I have an "anyone but Mike Little" voting mentality, but I still need to know something about potential DA candidates to vote for them.
Yes, "the special crimes unit WAS working really close with someone." Specifically, (and it's not LD), the LCSO tipline, on its website. That is where the reports originate, from the citizen complainants. It seems that LD folks aren't the only people that want the crime cleaned up in LC.
This isn't a new concept, following tips and leads. It's standard police work.
It's merely a revamping of the crimestoppers hotline, going digital, and taking the dispatchers out of the loop. Now, there's no call screeners, to mess up a message, or trash it, because friends or family are the perpetrators! In fact, (and in the none too distant past...) nothing was a crime, if the perp was a friend or family, of dispatch!!!
This has been a pervasive problem in both LC and Cleveland. Sheriff Patterson was quite familiar with the problem, coming from Cleveland PD. He intentionally setup the online citizen complaint system, to circumvent it. I still have the card of a PD detective, with his cell phone # on it. He gave it to me, explaining the problem, with instructions to "not call dispatch", but call him directly.
Popular, or not: I'm giving Sheriff Patterson the credit, for intelligent design and effective operations. Whatever, it's on his watch...
interesting description of dispatch. Are those cover up types still on board?
has there been any word on the grand jury deligation for Joe Warren yet?
Just as i predicted, Joe Warren was no-billed. Corruption Prevails Again.
Patterson is no saint! How can anything be on his watch when he can't be found?
Who are these S.o.B.s who are constantly whining about not being able to find the Sheriff? If you want to see him make an appointment. Liberty County doesn't just exist in the city limits of Liberty, TX. The Cleveland area is in Liberty County, Romayor and Rye areas are in Liberty County, Dayton area is in Liberty County. you can even find him in Hardin and Moss Hill areas. If you can't find the Sheriff maybe you need to get out of Liberty more.
Just like the above poster stated, most times during the day the Sheriff can be found in his office at the SO. And contrary to what filth posts on Youngblood's site, the Sheriff has gone on many patrols with his deputies.
Four more years, Sheriff. We are behind you!
what do you mean "he can't be found"? He's in public several times each week. I know over a dozen men who have coffee with him at a public diner.
try Cleveland's Plantation diner, from 5:30 to 6:15 daily. Saturdays too.
