Recently I accompanied a friend to his court hearing in the 75th Judicial District Court in Liberty County. I have visited the 75th Judicial District Court on several prior occasions when the former judge was sitting on the bench.
I just wanted to comment on the distinct difference in our new Judge, Mark Morefield and the old judge. I found the new Judge very businesslike and professional. The difference between our new judge and that of the old Judge CT Hight is like night and day. I believe our county is much better served by a real legal administrator and honest man like Mark Morefield. It is apparent Judge Morefield has a real and genuine interest in the people of Liberty County and wont be bullied by the corrupt good ole boy network.

I don't know how Mark has been able to do it, he has been forced to inherit the $hit ball Rusty Hight left him. Mark is doing a stellar job at cleaning up Hight's @rap, there is still much work to do and Mark is working himself to the bone. Hight is a piece of @rap for what he did to Mark.
I take exception with some of the negative comments as promoted by the other side against Mark Morefield. Morefield is working around the clock to repair damage done by former Judge Rusty Hight. And if its not bad enough that Hight didn't do his job, he stole all the law books out of Morefield's law library on his way out of the courthouse. Im furious Hight has been allowed to get away with this 'grand larceny' without being indicted. More proof of Liberty County DA Mike Little's selective prosecution and protecting the Democrat good ole boy network.
The real problem lies with what Hight did and what he let DA Mike Little get away with. DA Little has been allowed to hold defendants hostage for years without due process. Morefield needs to start dismissing cases to teach Mike Little a lesson and clean up the Liberty County Judicial system. A lot of the cases as filed by Mike Little are frivolousness or trumped up. Morefield needs to be decisive and not ignore Little's apparent corrupt acts.
Lets face it, Morefield signed Mike Little's gag order on the child sex case out of Cleveland. Morefield should have taken a stand against Mike Little.
I was there when Morefield signed the order, he is no puppet of Mike Little, he begrudgingly signed the gag order because he thought he was doing the right things for all concerned.
As for DA Mike Little, his motives are crystal clear, he wanted to shut down the truth about this young girls long sexual history and more importantly, stop his sexual crimes from coming to light- homo.
Morefield is run by DA Mike Little and his minions.
Morefield needs to make Little prosecute all of his cases that are older than two years or drop them. Taxpayers do not want to pay for Little's political games.
Liberty county lost the best Judge they have ever had. Morefield needs alot more experience and not to listen to Mike Little

Morefield signed the GAG order to stop the rumors so the trial could be held in Liberty County instead of another county 200 miles away from here.
Upon sitting in the probation summons hearings on April 5th I witnessed first hand Judge Morefield stating "I don't know what you've heard about this courtroom probationer but I do not take probation violations lightly and I do take these matters seriously." Thank you Judge Morefield this is what Liberty County needs. I saw him put 3 people in jail due to violating alcohol/drug terms of their probation and they all needed to go because none were going to do what they were supposed to do. I wonder how many lives Judge Morefield saved that day besides the ones of the probationers. Once again thanks Liberty County you elected the right judge for the 75th Judicial District!!!
I was wondering just what kind of person Mr. Morefield is and would he do the " right" thing by this county. I too have sat through many hearings with the former Judge of this county. I have witnessed blatant ignoring of legitimate contempt charges, costing your county much money. No doubt done to prevent any hard feelings to " friends" of the former judge. I hope should I ever have to attend another hearing in this county, that Mr. Morefield will not do as the former Judge and just ignore blantant lies placed before him! Kudos to the citizens of Liberty for removing the corruption!!! You still have more to remove though, I assure you!
