"Janet Harrelson Back in the News: A former Liberty County elected official has filed a petition to sue Liberty County claiming she was unlawfully removed from office. Back in 2002, the newly elected treasurer, Janet Harrelson, was blocked from being sworn in when she came under suspicion of abusing her rights as an elected official. Later, Ms. Harrelson was convicted on four counts. Two were overturned on appeal while the other two were upheld by a higher court. Now, Janet Harrelson is seeking permission to file suit against Liberty County and former Democrat Party Chair John Archer over her removal. Liberty County Attorney Wes Hinch said the big question at the moment is whether or not the statute of limitations for this type of suit ran out years ago. So far, no suit has been filed."
KSHN and Wes Hinch have apparently mislead and suppressed the truth from Liberty County- but why the conspiracy?
According to the KSHN story for tomorrow, statements from Wes Hinch and KSHN claim Democrat, John Archer and Liberty County have not been sued. Hinch and KSHN state that only a "notice or permission to sue" has been filed- that is a complete lie. Why would KSHN and Wes Hinch give cover to John Archer? Could it be they favor Democrats who have been accused of fraud?
To clear the facts and speak the truth, LD readers need to know:
1. A lawsuit against Liberty County and John Archer has in fact been filed in Liberty County and the case number is #CV1103946.
2. A fraud claim has been filed and the statute had not run before the suit was filed.
3. In the Harrelson case, Wes Hinch's connections and cover to alleged sex offender and corrupt public official, DA Mike Little appear to run deep.

I don't know the man or his agenda, but I do know Bill Buchanan has manipulated our politics and our politicians and our elections for far too long.
This whole thing was dumped on Harrelson so Democrats in and out of the courthouse would not have to answer for their part in this affair. Mr. Hinch needs realize he works for us not the powerful in the courthouse, not his fellow lawyers.
Archer truly is a piece of work. If he skates by all of this again, it is missed opportunity for a new group to show how things have changed.
Changed? We still have people working with KSHN to keep us from knowing the truth. How is that any different!
I voted for the Hinch man for two reasons. One was his opponent was another one of those Zbraneks. The other reason was I have come to agree that electing almost any Democrat is like rolling the window down and throwing money out. He sure doesn't like ruffling any feathers.
Since when does anyone need to "seek permission" to file a lawsuit???

I gotta say this. What Janet Harrelson did was not only stupid, it was impossible. Impossible to do without other officials breaking the rules. If I go to the wrong VIP gate at Reliant Stadium and they let me in ..... the only person should lose their job is the people wholet me in ..... not me. Wes Hinch should let the chips fall where they fall. We have seen enough coverups to last a lifetime already.
If the news does not fit Bill's agenda, does he just change it?
I for one still believe in Henry Patterson, I believe he is nothing like Wes Hinch and will come through for Liberty County. Patterson still has time to clean up the corruption, very little time but he can do it.
Signup for the 2012 elections start in less than 11 months. My family is excited about cleaning more garbage out of the courthouse.
Well,I see liberty County is not holding back public records anymore. This story makes KSHN look stupid and anyone can now see what they have been up to all these years. KSHN will soon find out that this is not the same old Liberty County Mafia they have been dealing with for years. Archer has now been placed in the hot seat for some of his twisted dealing, along with his buddy, billy Boy.
Where is the Code of Ethics that these individuals are suppose to follow? Does any other parents get the courts? police? or any other individuals to deliver their children to their home, so they can have holiday lunch, before going back to jail. PLEASE. This should have never happened. All of them involved. should be in jail. They all crossed the line. End of story.
KHSN will try and clean this up but don't count on getting the facts about what really happened that made the story so untruthful. Buchanan can not afford to let his story make the County Attorney look any worse. He is not known for treating most of his employees very well so one of the poor souls will probably get a butt chewing.
Ray, it's funny that as soon as your story exposing Hinch and KSHN's lied, KSHN reran their story, correcting their misconception. What the new story REALLY says is this, "We are so damn stupid that we cannot even interpret the english language and report news correctly." At least the snake Buchanan finally admitted just how stupid he really is!!! rofl
I sure don't like to beat a dead horse, but this horse doesn't look like it is dead yet. Can the LD please post a summary of the events leading up to the removal of Janet Harrelson from office? 2002 was quite awhile back and some of us have slept since then. Also, what were the convictions that were overturned and what were the convictions that were upheld?
LD could you do a recap story about the ground water scam that some of our local leaders were trying to pull when you first came to town. Tell us who the players were, their role, and why you think they were involved.
Let's see...events that lead up to Harrelson's removal...she beat the odds and won the election; was appointed to replace Skidmore 10-1-02; won general election 11-2-02; her attorney asked to bring her son to Liberty County to testify in a court case; Judge Zbranek approved those documents; son brought to Liberty County and was taken by her house for a few minutes to see elderly grandmother (still with armed deputy) then taken to Liberty County jail. Fearing that, now that she has access to the information, she will expose all the "money laundering" that has been going on for years (Skidmore either involved or looked the other way), Archer files petition in December,2002, meets at Judge's house at midnight with radio station, district clerk and new Treasurer (who happened to have $2000 in her pocket for a bond???)in attendance.
