CLEVELAND, TEXAS: Kooky City Council Members Attack Voters and Petitioners

Liberty Dispatch doesn't weight in much in Liberty County concerning individual city issues- unless corruption is involved.

One issue which has arisen that has perked our interest is the alleged disturbing illegal activities by some Cleveland, Texas city council members.

An apparent petition has been circulated in Cleveland to recall Barbara McIntyre, Durlene Davis and Cedric McDuffie of the Cleveland city council for corrupt and self dealing activities. In the middle of the skirmish between a handful of Cleveland city council members and the voters of Cleveland, subject council member/s have retaliated against the public and activist.

One outspoken member of the corruption in the Cleveland city council and recall petition organizer is a local Methodist Pastor, Carl E. Lundberg.

Further proving her self-dealing corruption, Barbara McIntyre has used the City of Cleveland's stationary and letterhead to gain an illegal advantage against Pastor, Lundberg. McIntyre has written a claimed defaming and illegal letter to the IRS in attempt to have petition supporters harassed and oppressed.

As a result of McIntyre's actions, Liberty Dispatch believes McIntyre has committed official oppression and obvious official misconduct offenses. The Texas Attorney General, Texas Ethics Commission and Solicitor General's office should be immediately brought in to investigate the Cleveland City Texas' council for corrupt acts. Unfortunately, on the county level no official corruption will be investigated or referrals made because of Liberty County DA, Mike Little's sweetheart and ex employee Durlene Davis being a council member. How can a corrupt DA and his office investigate corruption? Answer- it cant/he cant.

The voters and activist of Cleveland, Texas should be encouraged to keep up the fight for a clean government and even step up the heat on the corrupt. They should use any legal means to annihilate the corruption in Cleveland which threatens the very future of the children in that community.

Where is Cleveland Texas' city attorney to allow this kind of illegal behavior and actions which can easily result in winnable lawsuits against the City of Cleveland.

Liberty Dispatch supports Pastor, Lundberg's actions and hopes to see his goals realized in his obvious fight of good versus evil.

Cleveland city council members are delusional and need to put the crack pipe down.

Mike Little is an ass bandit0.

This letter by McIntyre to the IRS smells like something cooked up by Durlene Davis and Mike Little.

Durlene Davis is a great example of a person who uses what some call reverse racism to help Democrats like Mike Little and to try and get her way like she is with the city of Cleveland. Her race bating tactics are an embarrassment to fair minded black Americans and a direct assault on what Martin Luther King's dream speech targeted.

If people really knew who Barbara really is, I wonder if she would have any support!

I love the part about the Methodist pastor, using his tax free car (Lexus, no less!) bought and operated with tax free, church minister's car allowance bucks... to personally drive to his members' homes for petition signings.

The IRS auditor will have a field day with that. So will his district superintendent. So long, pastor Carl.

One blogger lists FMC as a 'progressive' church. Translation: together with the presbyterians, they let an avowed lesbian rewrite the Bible (dubbed the 'new revised standard version'-according to feminism/lesbianism.) Both denominations ordain both women and lesbians... hence, 'progressive.' The councilwoman, quite correctly, called them 'ungodly'. How much moreso is possible?

the recall petitions seek to return the corrupt council group, who brought us the following:
1. the red light cameras
2. the additional taxing entity:
the chamber of commerce, sticking us with these monthly bills, on their corrupt behalves:
a. maintenance
b. utilities
c. landscaping
d. custodial
e. principle
f. interest
g. upkeep
3. the airport management, who for
years, has allowed its use as a drug landing stip, and refueling locale.
4. Twelve million dollars in building debt
5. An electric utility monopoly with Entergy, such that we pay twice what SHECO pays (just 10 miles west) and the city gets a surcharge from our bills.
6. Our road funds pirated and borrowed against, for five streets, such that the rest of us live with unrepaired roads.
7. Continued affirmative action violations, in every department head, city wide.

The truth is, the recall is solely about returning the corrupt ones, who did all of the above, to power

I believe some among us need to be updated on affirmetive actions' troubles in the courts in recent years.

I believe that Ray (and LD) needs to be updated about the prior city council's squanderings and fleecings of the populace; before they choose sides (or desire that bunch to be returned to office.)

I fully agree with the removal of the three, but on different grounds:
McIntyre was ineligible for office, being indebted to the city, at the time of her election (per the city charter.)

Durlene is a career politician. That's sufficient grounds to sign a recall petition.

Another McDuffy has already held a city office (fmr mayor.) That's sufficient for his recall.

I also believe that the above post needs spelling assistance for four syllable words! That alone, precludes any trusting of their supposed case law knowledge (never mind the absent citations.)

All of this is giving me nausea. I believe I'll have a beer.

whoever quoted councilwoman Delores Terry as calling the Methodists, 'ungodly', missed the point: 'Ungodly' was a gross UNDERSTATEMENT!

At the council meeting, the 'reverend' Methodist pastor almost got himself arrested, by standing, interrupting her and demanding: 'do you speak for God'?
Truth is: by ordaining lesbians and bastardizing the Bible, his denomination's 'reverends' haven't spoken 'for God' in YEARS.

Delores thinks she is God. She is nothing but a devil.

I thought ther ewas supposed to be a seperation of religion from politics and State.

The City Council needs to be updated. I think I will have a Scotch on the rocks.

actually, the biggest problem in town is the runaway building codes. Businesses are leaving town to avoid having to put 21st century amenities into 19th century buildings (that's what happens when you fail to get a 'historical district' designation.) Again, those code revisions were adopted by the prior city council.

I'm suggesting a 90% decrease in the code enforcement department's budget (operations and salaries.) I'm betting that will solve it!

they could also repeal the new codes, and let the businesses live in peace.
