| Voters have given Liberty County a gift. What gift will Liberty County give? |
No promises were made. There won’t be any quotes for future political opponents of this wave of new Republican officeholders in Liberty County to remind the voters of. It was not even implied. But this last election COULD result in a great deal more than putting more conservative more common sense people in leadership positions.
Taxpayers could actually get the best Christmas present they could possibly dream of from those now preparing to run our county government for the next four years. In a few short weeks after the swearing of our new officials, taxpayers could witness an effort never before seen in this county’s history. We could see a commitment to pairing down the bloated 2011 budget and return the numbers recorded in the 2007 budget. Numbers that are 50% smaller! What a gift that would be to the taxpayers!
Think of what could be done if our new officials would commit to this. We could pay off certificates of obligations early and keep a bond rating that will drop soon if the election had gone the Democrats have acted powerless over the years and pointed to the appraisal district as the culprit when people have complained their tax bill is higher.
Our new public officials could right some more wrongs too. They could come up with a responsible plan forward with the old Walmart building. Sell it and get it back on the tax rolls. Or use it and sell other county properties if the numbers justify it, but do something.
If we would get away from the insane expenditures in the current 2011 budget, Liberty County can also spend some of taxpayer’s money better. For example, one of the things citizens expect our government to provide is fair and just and well run courts. For those who mischaracterize and unfairly criticize Republicans, our new officials could actually invest in better government by appropriating money for a court reporter for the County Court-at-Law court. What thinking human being could possibly object to such an expenditure. We are against waste and against government wandering into areas they have no business. Few, if any, would object to an effort to get back to the 2007 budget and taking some of the money take in from taxes to insure a better justice system.
On the other hand, some have suggested even the 2007 budget numbers may be high for one area in our courthouse. Revelations of all of the money taken in by the District Attorney’s office and not accounted for are soon to come. But taxpayers are never interested in slush funds with no accountability. One of the little extras taxpayers could have in the gift wrapping is a commitment to slashing the District Attorney’s budget in lieu of bringing those funds Liberty County is receiving in seizures and drug busts. Those funds should lighten the burden of the taxpayer, not lighten the accountability of whatever politician is in that office. Soon, facts and figures will show, in the last few years the Liberty County DA, Michael Little has doubled his budget and is doing half the work. Lawsuits and allegations of illegal 'homosexual sex for sentencing favors' and 'political vendettas' swirl around Michael Little and his office. Where is Liberty County DA, Michael Little's accountability?
Liberty County citizens shouldn’t expect the Christmas gift described above, but it is possible. Oh sure, we can’t go back to the exact figures of the 2007 budget. And sure Democrats have gone out and spent more and more money and we have more bills to pay since the 2007, but we are not mindless un-empowered victims. We can do things smarter; we can overcome past administrations’ decisions and liberal stupidity out of Washington D.C. We can roll back to what was plenty four years ago.
That, Mr. and Mrs. Newly-elected Public Official, is what many of us want for Christmas. Surprise us and make the world sit up and see how it is done.

In the Mr. Blue case, Mike Little couldn't even give Mr. Blue what he promised him after sexually assaulting him. The only thing Mr. Blue got was poked in the rear for challenging Mike Little with an appeal.
Be interesting to see if Craig McNair has the grapes to stand up to Little and his budget. Looks like Phil gave Little anything he wanted just to be able to continue to operate his cartel unimpeded. This profiles Mike Little, effectively as an extortionist, among other things.
The thing Craig McNair has going for him is that he will be protected by his big sis, Karen McNair.

The McNairs, LD is their only saving grace. If they don't get support from LD they will both get pushed through the underlying Liberal meat grinder in Liberty County.

If our new officials will just do part of these suggestions, it would be the gift that keeps on giving.
Who sets the budgets, salaries etc. for the court house? How are any of the newly elected going to be able to reverse any of the taxpayer inflicted damage? I would seriously like to know.
Dont forget Assistant District Attorney, Joe Warren. He has reportly commited assault offensives against persons, not with his little weenie but with a gun. No wonder he got off without an indictment, when his boss Mike Little is going around poking boys in his office. What a bunch of sorry SOB's.

Saying Mike Little has cut his work load in half is generous. When he works, he advertises it. I am sick of his articles in the newspaper. They are re-election propaganda. What this man has done to more than a few of my friends over the years is wrong.There is a scale that is symbolic of the balance justice is to have - Mike Little should serve time in prison to balance out the scale of his own actions.
Along with Fitzpack, we have a whole host of commissioners who are giving Mike Little a pass because they are afraid he will come after them, extort them. So they fall right in line with each other keeping a criminal in trash sacks full of money. Groce, Hunt, Fontenot/s and Brown - what a scared bunch of rabbits who are puppets on godfather Mike Little's string. A cancer partially gone and hopefully sooner than later either Little and more will be arrested.

The reason these County commissioners bow down to Little is, because they themselves have some of their wrong doings to hide. These commissioners won't go after him because they are crooks and Little won't go after them because he is a crook. Liberty County Mafia in its final days.
I don't care one bit why commissioners want try to throw Little out of office (us voters will do that soon enough), but they have a responsibility of oversite of ALL of the money that goes thru his hands. They need to wake up!

HCN just did a story on Cleveland PD Chief Bradshaw's police car being painted half police car and half taxi. So Cleveland PD thinks that little of the badge and having to take people to jail. They are so filled with joy arresting people they are painting police cars like taxis. Whats next, paint police cars pink for gay police officers?

Bradshaw has some bad history in Humble PD he brought to Cleveland.
Cleveland Police Chief Bradshaw got his money to paint an illegal unlicensed taxi from some of the mad (laundered) money Liberty County DA Mike Little is pumping into Cleveland PD to support the investigation against Patterson, Kelly and Cooper and line the pockets of Bradshaw and his cronies.
I agree with the comment about the property taxs and this Liberty Hospital District bunch of crooks. This hospital district is a waste of property owners money and has to be stopped, some way. This theft has gone on long enough. Can someone out there find a way to put an end to this Hospital district theft? If so, I will support and help to end this worthless waste of Taxpayer money.
The Cleveland PD is now setting up on hwy 59 at the river just past the old cattle auction, running radar. Looks like Patton Village and Splendora all over again, and it stinks!

I also observed the speed traps set up outside cleveland my first thought was "Are we the new Patton Village" traffic cameras speed traps are all about money not catching criminals.
