I keep looking at side by side Republican and Democrat numbers from the Primary Election and I remain amazed at the mind-set change of Liberty County Voters. The fact that Liberty County has flipped from being a heavy duty democrat stronghold to a majority of voters embracing the Conservative message is absolutely amazing.
The thing that voters and candidates cannot deny is that a positive media outlet is one of the most important tools that the Republican Party can employ. If anyone doubts the power of the internet to communicate a political message, then apparently they don’t understand the Primary Numbers that I have been posting on Liberty Dispatch.
By the way, as far as I am concerned Liberty Dispatch carries the same Liberty County Media weight as any of the newspapers, blogs, or radio stations. Does anyone really think that a small town candidate like me could have ascended to the Chairmanship of the Liberty County
Republican Party without taking advantage of the huge readership of Liberty Dispatch? Don’t listen to the bitterness that is apparently running rampant. Don’t let a small group of people who are hell bent on causing division use you for their small minded political objectives.
Republican candidates you can embrace this new form of communication and get your message out or you can stick with the same old tired Democrat Leaning Media and lose. I encourage you to take advantage of Liberty Dispatch’s wide spread readership.

Out of 6849 total votes 5104 were Republicans. Also if you look real close, you will find that the Democrat Chairman would have only won 3 Boxes out of the 36 that were represented.

I want to advise you not to get too over-confident Andy. You need to take into consideration that many people voted on the Republican ticket this go around because of the Governor's race. In November they do not have to vote republican...all options will be available for them to vote for the candidate of their choice. I know a large number of democrats that voted republican simply because of the governors race. Look at the numbers closely and see how many positions on the republican ticket left certain candidates blank when voting. This will give you an idea on the democrats that voted republican. I know the numbers look great but it is because of the governors race. Also, you had two candidates switch from democrat to republican, Cain and Brown, and both are fairly well liked in the county so that spiked the numbers also. I know this site pushes the republican message but when it gets to November I believe the numbers will be far closer that what the primary has shown...and you need to realize...on the local front republican and democrat does not really matter. Issues on the local front do not revolve around parties....look at what the office holders deal with and handle....
Poor ol' John Archer...always so dang proud of single handedly keeping Liberty County democratic. He must really be losing it!

These numbers are more of a reflection of people's aggravation over Phil Fitgerald and Lee Groce than any Governor's race. The good news is Fitzgerald got stomped in his primary even after so many people abandoned forever the idea they must vote Democratic in local elections.That hints of veen more disgruntled Democrats along with the apathy low numbers indicates.
Interesting idea that the Governor's race would swell Republican numbers here for the primary. It should be just the opposite Rick Perry is the only one of the top four Gubernatorial candidates that has the conservative credentials that are good for rural counties. Kay Bailey, Farouk, and Bill White are predicted to have done best in big cities because their policies are better for city folks, while Perry has always been strong in counties like Texas. So the fact is the one third of the people who voted locally in the Democratic primary would be better off voting Republican in November and those who voted Republican are likely to stay on the"R" side.
Look what Bill White left for Houston. Millions of dollars in debt for the new Mayor. Now Houston is talking about all their plans to either lay off employees, not water landscape plants and cut out mowing. Maybe this is why people want to keep Rick Perry as our Governor.
