Why must we always have a black eye on our name here in Liberty County, and more specifically in the Hardin area? If it isn’t alleged FEMA fraud it is now alleged wrong doings of the sale of rock to the Liberty County EMS. It is still yet undetermined if the sale of rock to the Liberty County EMS has been done legally. According to media sources Liberty County Auditor, Harold Seay has not been able to find where any money from any of Lee Groce's rock sales in the last ten years has surfaced in the county's coffers. So we have two issues that need to be resolved. The first one is where is the money from rock sales. The second issue is how the sale took place.
Questions were raised recently after three loads of limestone driveway material were delivered to a Moss Hill property by Pct. 2 trucks.
According to the Commissioner of Precinct 2 (Lee Groce) there is a section of the law that he says gives him the ability to provide for emergency ambulance service in the county. This law says: “Under the Health and Safety Code, Title 9, Subtitle B, Sec. 774.003, this was done to defray the expense of operating and maintaining the emergency ambulance service in the county,” wrote Groce in an e-mail according to media sources. However, the code explains that “Commissioner’s Court” may provide for emergency ambulance service. Commissioners, not one commissioner!
Groce said later that he did not understand why all of the questions about the rock were being asked. Groce added that his road and bridge department had provided close to a dozen loads of limestone for Liberty County EMS when they were located at a Hardin site.
The Liberty County Auditor Harold Seay was contacted by The Cleveland Advocate for the copies of the records of the past ten years of sales of rock to Emergency Medical Services. The site to be used for the Liberty County EMS service may be a legitimate thing, and it could add for faster response times to the people of the area, but several questions still remain:
Why wasn’t this brought up before the Commissioners Court before the rock was delivered?
Why after 23 years of service does the Commissioner of Precinct 2 find himself in this situation again?
Why does Liberty County have to have a constant dark cloud of alleged corruption above it at all times?
What will Harold Seay and County Treasurer Kim Harris find out when they search every county record about the money Lee Groce has generated from Rock sales?
What other "rock sales" have been conducted that taxpayers need to know about?

Thank you Marcus. My respect for you grows every time I read what you say. I read the Cleveland Advocate and am embarrassed AGAIN by the way Lee Groce answers questions. First he embarrasses Hardin by acting like a good ole boy with his hand out on Wayne Dulcefino’s report and then this mess with rock. If Charlotte want take him on at least you are speaking up.
My 80 tear old Aunt lives in Cleveland and she called me today to wish me a happy birthday. Before we got off the phone she was telling me about The Cleveland Advocate article. Bless her heart, she warned me not to buy any rock for our driveway from "that man", She was referring to Lee groc eof course.
I am a fan of Lee Groce because he has done a great deal of good in our area, I am a Republican but I don’t believe all of the BS being said about Phil or Lee and I don’t appreciate someone who ran away because he got his girlfriend pregnant and then comes back acting all patriotic. The one thing Helen Vickery has done that I like is help Charlotte Warner beat your sorry *ss…………..
Marcus I like some of the feedstore gang and I am sure you do to. But you can't get everybody's vote. They may say ugly things to you and do what tehy can because they are closer to Charlotte but I like that you are being tough on bad behavior not jsut somebody in your way for a job you want.

I remember just about forty months or so ago Lee Groce was out beating the bushes for votes for Phil. They were like Mutt and Jeff. They were conquering the world and it was going to be good for Hardin according to them. And now we hear from The Advocate that "the parties involved in the fax and mail tampering have been identified, they could face the federal charge of Obstruction of Correspondence, which could lead to fines and imprisonment of up to five years, or both." I may be ignorant at times but I ain't stupid. Thanks Marcus. Campaigns should be about why one candidate thinks he can do better than the other. You will have to be fearless and straightforward to be the kind of commissioner we need. I see that you are both and much more.

Well Lee, this is another fine mess you've gotten us into. There is no Commissioners Court in Precinct #2, therefore you run things to suit yourself. Didn't you know that you don't do things like this anymore? People are watching every move now that all this FEMA SCAM is being investigated. I'm glad we have Marcus Brand to vote for, because at this point I would have voted for any new canidate, or more correctly, against the sticky finger crooks we now have.
That's a "no brainer" on why Helen is supporting Ken Morrison...he ran against Phil, kicked his tail and Helen got even with Phil politically. With Charlotte Warner...that is the "pick of the priviledged" to beat Lee Gross and get even with him politically. With Stevie Stephens...Helen doesn't know what she's up against here. He will use her to get the votes, then kick her rear to the curb faster than she can spit across Hwy 787...and smile the whole time that he's doing it!

Seems to me Groce has long since passed the point of realizing he is elected to serve the people. Did he become the Ruler whos due his rewards? King of Pct.2 doing as he wanted with no regard or fear of his actions? Maybe so, it certainly appears so. I'm voting for Marcus Brand.
I guess this is the reason Lee has been referred to as Little Hitler. His ruling is, Do as I say and not as I do. I am now wondering if these loads of rock that went to Moss Hill aren't somehow on FILL or some of His relatives Property that is being leased out to the County for the EMS site. Oh well, Lee is taking care of all this. This is bootie and this is the way we do it out here in the country. We are still Good Ole Boys out here.

I just wanted to give you a heads up. I hope you are working just as hard against Warner as you are Groce. She is your first obstacle. There is wind blowing down the pipe that Helen Green is about to come after you. If you want your shot at Groce let's get passed Warner. I hope you are prepared because Helen Green will attack you through her media outlet Vanessa with the Advocate. Helen is on a mission and I guess she feels Warner has the best ability to beat Groce...that is why she is funding and helping her. She has a vendetta against Groce and I would be careful jumping on anything Vanessa prints because it does not have to be the truth. Why don't you call Groce or go by his office and talk to him about this situation with the rock? If you don't like what he says then use it for later. I just don't want you getting ahead of yourself. Democrats have convinced themselves that the public is too stupid to know what is good for them, and they keep running people like Lee Groce. As a back up they try and get other people in these races that they have worked with and feel like they can control if their number one loses.
Helen's friends are Helen's friends. I ain't vote for Vanesa Brashier or Charlotte Warner because they are her friends. I like Helen but she has a habit of involving herself with people that she herself is bitterly disappointed with later. She has a problem judging people's character. I'll direct my own vote.
