Liberty Dispatch at different times during this primary election season listed support for Mayor Steve Stephens and for Craig McNair for County Judge. Anyone that reads this site is probably surprised by any flip flopping like this that they see because it is so rare. But the fact of the matter is that Liberty Dispatch believes these two candidates would be good County Judges and that all three are better equipped to serve the county than either of the Democrats that ran. Rather than feel pressed to pick a favorite in a situation like this, next time we will just list all three. We wish the primary winner well and we are thankful for the two gentlemen who were courageous enough to run for public office. Our community can be proud to have men like this who are willing and very capable to serve the public.
Sincerely,
Liberty Dispatch Staff

To the wonderful people of Liberty County:
My sincere appreciation and thanks go out to all of you who supported me in my campaign for County Judge. To my fellow candidates and friends, Craig McNair and Steve Stephens, thank you for running a great race with me and being the gentlemen that you are...it has been a pleasure to be on the campaign trail with you both. The "fiddler" may have finished this song, but the concert isn't over yet and I look forward to the outcomes in April and November. To all the voters...plese make your choices wisely in this and all of the precinct and county-wide races...It is for your future and for the future of our great county. Again, my many thanks to all and until the next time we meet, I remain, Jay H. Knight
You are a class act Jay. Thanks Liberty Dispatch. I didn't understand why you supported McNair but figured it was because he ran last time. I could tell by reading things on here that you were not passionate for one of the County Judge candidates over another one. I appreciate your kind words that included Jay Knight. He would have been a great judge. He will work tirelessly to elect one of the men that beat him now. He is that kind of man. Full of integrity and knowledgeable about hwat is at stake if we do not mobolize against the party of Obama.
I see where you have listed the two completed races as "won" because Cain and McCreight have no more elective process to finish. I also see where you predict any of the Republican candidates should beat Fitzgerald or Morrison, but I don't see how the very public problems Stephenson had with FEMA (which could cause Dayton to not be reimbursed) or the poor campaigning abilities displayed by McNair in 2006 will produce a victory. How can they possibly win?
Here we go with the mudslinging! Steve Stevenson is as honest as the day is long. Any problems Dayton had with FEMA will not have anything to do with Steve padding his own pockets. Democrats would love to convince the voters that we are somehow even with them in wrongdoing. As for Craig McNair's campaign last time, it was his first race and he talked to alot of folks and got alot of votes. The only area most of Liberty County probably wishes would have been better was they wish he had gotten one more vote than Fitzgerald.
Democrats want to pump up anything and everything to make it look like a Republican scandal. After Phil voters' remorse has set in. In hindsight most people would agree Craig McNair or Bruce Halstead would have been a much better county judge. And Stephenson's so called scandal has prepared him to deal with the federal government and all of their jump through hoops paperwork in the future.
I told my wife with Phil and Barack and the gang being such a heavy weight around all of the local Democrats necks that I bet you we will hear about all of the Republicans sex lives and their bankruptcies and their misstatements. But all of that won't add up to participating in the culture of corruption Democrats have protected around here.
We could have races for political office that talk just about what each person has done and will do in office or we could digress to the more personal questions. Which is worse in politics, the revelation a candidate is living with someone as man and wife or a married candidate committing adultery?
The rainbow crowd over at i-dineout or I should say Allen Youngblood has posted sour grapes comments about LD and Ray Akins. SORE LOSERS!
Democrats and their operative in the Republican party are mad their biggest supporter/puppet Lester Ray Wisgerber is gone.
The corrupt RINOS in the Liberty County Republican Party are trying trying to control Andy McCreight by alienating him from his support structure. Those corrupt in the local party, Lester Ray Wisegerber's leftover cancerous lesions.
Allen Youngblood post writes and post most all 90% negative comments which end up on i-dineout.
Youngblood is having a sissy fit over all the Republicans elected and running. If he wants to start a war, Im sure Liberty Dispatch can take on a war on Norman Brown and Paulette Williams.
Ahhhh Im all broken up over an old turd voted out who was this parties worst enemy... I heard Wisegerber and his bitches making fun of the TEA Party people.
F-Jay Knight, glad he didnt win!
Jay Knight was a moron and the people knew it. They also knew he was Lester Ray Wisegerbers girl Friday... that's why he lost. He screwed McNair and Stevens, Wisegerber got what he deserved, no Hight is going to get his.
