The investigation into alleged wrongdoing by Chambers County elected officials continues. As we investigate Chambers County corruption, we have received numerous threats from 'anonymous' individuals. We are also investigating allegations that a Chambers County elected official and Anahuac Progress Editor Theresa Barrett conspired to make false complaints against a non-profit organization in an effort to secret guilt. This type of treachery against front line relief workers is unforgivable and the FBI should intervene immediately.
The alliance between Ms. Barrett and County Judge Jimmy Silvia is well documented. We have seen numerous threatening emails Ms. Barrett has sent to various individuals and in each case the County Judge was copied. Obviously Ms. Barrett is working in consort with Silvia to influence, peddle, extort and/or bribe individuals. The media working in concert with government officials can only remind us of the dark days of the former Soviet Union. We are going to deepen our investigation and eventually get to the bottom of Chambers' County corruption.
Attorneys have been retained to investigate Barrett's ties, alleged criminal and tortuous conduct in Chambers County with a possible criminal and civil referral.
Although we have seen angry outbursts from Barrett and Chambers County officials, why haven't we seen the documents that would prove these allegations false? An old lawyer saying is "if you can't argue the facts then just pound the table".

if there is guilt , the guilty should step forward admit the guilt and except the consequenses as any comman criminal. if they try to lie or buy their way out , then absolutely no mercy should be shown. i dont think the citizens will accept another cover-up.

Could you please investigate and write a story about Mark and Darlene Pagels they are the real trouble-makers in Oak Island they have just duped people like Theresa Barrett and Artie Pressley to do their bidding.
ms.barrett and mr.pressley are adults. you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink.
Mark and Darlene are long time con artists. they have been kicked out of two churches for their behaviour.

As for Pressley,when the facts are discovered we will see where his culpability lies.the marina was pushed on the citizens as a great source of income for the community,but obviously it is the investors who will benefit the most. i dont see the middle or low income profiting , but we might get to fish off their piers with our canes poles. but again maybe not we might scratch a yacht.
I guess that's why Mark and Darlene have started their own church. Nobody else wants them. They are going to have this new "church" at their home how convenient.They won't have to pay any taxes.Got Kool-aid?

Chambers County wasnt corrupted just during Jimmy Sylvias time in office theres just more technology for some people who are on unemployment, and just regular good old people to keep tabs on who has their hand in the biggest cookie jar this county has ever had thanks to our federal government.

Investigate all the department heads. One in particular has Sylvia's spine in her back pocket. If she wants money, she screams at him, he wets his panties and gives in. 17 new computers for the library ? Where did the money come from ?
sylvia must be the biggest idiot in this town.a bmw starting price for the least expensive model is 30 thousand. even a common thief with an iq of 70 knows not to wear a stolen necklace into the same neighborhood where it was stolen.
The presley market was initialy built by fema contractors told to do the work by the head chief/silvia. he is also one of the investors along with cecil parker and john jenkins who are both supposedly in the deal for $100,000 each. all of which was money made during the clean up. silvia and staff also slapped the citizens in the face by giving presley a tax abatement with out doing any due dilligence and with out presley submitting state required information, just rhetoric such as employee profit sharing. keep in mind that presley does everything in cash, such as his casino poker money. about once or twicw a month thousands of dollard are exchanged with county and city officials participating.
Barret is held up counting her money made from the ike relirf cook book. Such funds were going for play ground equipmet for the new not so private Arty Presley Park. However, the swing sets are on hold because TABC is frowning upon the sales of alcohol just feet away from Presley's market and soon to be private club. Where is the money? Its possible that the Pagels are using some of it to fund their home church program. Rumor has is that they cannot decide on which type of equipment to purchase. Barrett and Pagel had no problems deciding on what kind of car to purchase for a crack head after the storm who later disapppeared. Should they be in charge of anything. Rumor also has it that the state is looking in to their funding debaucle with possible charges for misrepresenting funding for public activities, which is illegal.
